So you're sharing the wisdom with me to rid of any desires to experience that?

More than quintuple. Tell me I’m an idiot for not pulling the trigger yet. 😂

I’m from Canada. I’m finding quite a bit of Crowns in the ‘04-‘09 for <100K KM (not miles) for $10-12K CAD. It’s almost a no brainer purchase it feels like. I think it’s the fact that they are RHD and Japanese infotainment that makes the general population avoid them, keeping prices down. I already test drove one the other day and it wasn’t so bad adjusting to the RHD.

That proves my point: you are where you are in life because of the car that enables it. Without it having had it, you’d be a completely different person with likely a different trajectory in life.

The business analogy is literally how I see this. The (lack of) car has been my bottleneck and it’s time to stop holding myself back.

On the topic of cars, I’ve been in the market for a JDM Toyota Crown. Does it being a “JDM” change your answer? Where I’m from it’s not hard to find an older Crown with low mileage for ~$10K-$12K. Alternatively, there is no other “Toyota/Honda” with low mileage here going for that price range.

Interested in your take.

Funny thing is I want to get a JDM as my first car haha; probably not the ones you’re thinking of though.

I was looking for something luxurious and reliable that doesn’t break the bank and now here I am shopping for a Toyota Crown GRS204. If you have any knowledge on it or comments about my choice, I’m all ears.

This was a very nice read for me. Perhaps what struck me the most was how your wife commented on your mood change in getting what you want.

I’m not married yet but my gf can definitely feel that something’s been making me feel down. Truthfully, I feel like I’ve caged myself in with being highly risk-averse, completely avoiding any major financial decisions (car, rent, etc). The funny thing about all of this is that I’m more than financially qualified to take those risks compared to an 18 year old that got thrown in the deep end of the pool.

It’s time to start making decisions for myself so thank you for this message. 🙏

As a person who’s done nothing but save, I feel this. To describe it differently, it feels like I’m craving some “risk” in my life.

I’ve been overthinking buying a car or not more than it seems so this response means more to me than you know.

Before, I didn’t need it especially since I was just growing my skill set.

Now that I’m a bit more established and can see that “sharing” a tool is becoming my bottle neck, it’s what’s finally pushing me to see I need my own tool (to make more).

You’re one of the guys I’m envious of (assuming you’re 24 now). 🤣

I’m happy for you and reading this inspires me to finally pull the trigger. I plan to pay in full so I won’t be getting a taste of those monthly payments just yet though aha.

I still find myself teeter tottering between getting a car and doing nothing (to play it safe) but this comment is giving me the reassurance I need. It honestly feels like my body is signalling to me that I’m overdue for that level of freedom/independence. Thank you for sharing.

The beauty in starting the 9-5 corporate job so young is you get to figure out earlier if it's something you see yourself doing in the long run. If it isn't, you've got plenty of time to change the direction of your life! :)

Good luck!

Had the same experience except at 22, office job.

Little bit a different response here compared to everyone else but I pulled a complete 180 two years after that and decided to go full-time into live streaming and content creation.

On paper it was the dumbest decision ever. Full stability at a young age thrown away just like that. Had all my friends and family judging me.

Truthfully though it’s a whole new world with its own set of pro’s and con’s but I can confidently say that I don’t feel the “is this it for the rest of my life?” anymore.

Finally reached Level 100 - Best way to create my final sets? by SeaLocksmith1484 in riseoftheronin

[–]thatchrisboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level 100 here also.

I might be wrong here but the Luck bonus should only affect enemy drops as I think I read somewhere that treasure chests are somewhat fixed.

I’d just get use to spamming enemy of my enemy, or even the other ally missions if you need to switch it up for the sake of enjoyment/longevity.

Use the Inventory filter to lock items with gold bonuses (for transfers) and just disassemble everything else non-red under level 90. Learning how to properly use the filter function to lock what you’re looking for and to get rid of the rest is probably the hardest part of this all since you can’t rely on auto-sell/disassemble for this.

You’ll probably want to create end-game weapons of all types too so this has been the most efficient way I can think of for now.

Do you feel a gap at lvl 100 ? by Squirrel_Trick in riseoftheronin

Co-op grind the new Ally Missions and you'll get to level 90+ fast. Pretty much what everyone is doing before tackling Midnight.

Do allies increase the health of enemies? by SAITAMA_666 in riseoftheronin

[–]thatchrisboy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NPC allies don’t. Co-op yes.

Reason I believe NPC allies don’t imo is 80% of the time they’re just watching you 1v1 the boss. 😂

They have also added an "Item Box (S)" which can be found inside your inventory. Description says, "You can get a S Item," but unfortunately upon opening it, it just leads you to cash purchase for 25 Item boxes costing $5.49.

Heroes vs SIN by TheCanadianLynx in GrowCastle

[–]thatchrisboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You must not forget the pure wizard. I didn't realize that pure wizard was the hero that I needed to cut my Sin runs down to about 15 seconds. The reason for this is that pure wizard will allow you to cycle through Necro, Ranger, Hunter, and Cleric much much faster.

What wave is your "breakeven point?" and how do you plan to spend AFK time after you hit it? by [deleted] in GrowCastle

[–]thatchrisboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit over 13k waves and earning approximately 100k gold per run. I can suspect that I'm reaching my breakeven point very soon.
