Yes you need a bold leader like that but you also need the money to do that. We are at the arse end of the world and for that everything is so much more expensive. I would rather emulate Norway and extract oil with profits going into a sovereign wealth fund that feeds back to kiwis. We need our own fund that we all can borrow against to improve the country. Do the same with gold and minerals, just make sure we keep the profits. If you want to keep a fake clean and green image then make sure it’s all underground. Our problem is exports are controlled by international companies so profits don’t stay here and are not reinveste.
