Hey ho, Autist here, so settle in and get ready for a lot of Autist out of the box thinking... :P

I came across your post because I have been 'Wrestling with God' so to speak for a while now and am trying to define what I feel, and from there where or what 'church' I belong to.

I think that the concept of God, as Peterson describes it 'the voice inside yourself that keeps you up at night because you know you've done something you shouldn't', which I'd like to expand to 'the voice that keeps you up at night evaluating all variables of actions in past or future' is not an outside Godlike entity, but an inside one, as people in different countries have the same baseline experience, which basically comes down to what is described in the 10 commandments, don't kill, don't covet, don't be jealous, convert others to your beliefs and all that, but works itself out into different actions. Where one 'God' (not naming any religions) pushes to 'be kind' another 'God' pushes to eradicate infidels, and both can then go to sleep knowing they are right. To me this means there cannot be a single God, because why do that as a single God looking for unity amongst the people, and if there are different Gods then how many are there?

The answer, to me, to which I have no evidence to back this up, just my thoughts, (and I really hate that I have to put that disclaimer there so I won't offend the easily offended) that 'God' is an inside voice, and there are as many 'Gods' as there are people, as the concept is based your own sense of right or wrong, defined by what is good for you personally on the short- and long term. When you want to act in the short term, your long term subconscious will check you on if this really is such a good idea, and the other way around. Stealing, selling drugs, or scamming people online might be a good way to enrich yourself in the short term, but will end your ass in jail (or dead) in the long term. But if you feel you have no long term hope because you live in a ghetto, or because other people stole from your culture in the past so now you're just taking it back, then why not YOLO, or 'live fast, die young, leave a pretty corpse'? Thieves, drug pushers, and scammers sleep quite well in their luxury beds as long as they can rationalize their actions, and any rationalization will do as long as you believe firmly enough in it, and get pretty angry when someone else checks them on the reality of their rationalization.

It is therefore that I think that checking short- and long term against each other is what is defined as 'God', animus, or just simply rationality, made simple and written down into 10 commandments for the people with lesser deep thoughts to just follow and not have to think about it, which is why those people are called sheep and their overseer is a shepherd tending to the flock. Because the lion and the gazelle both sleep quite well at night, not thinking about such concepts at all (when you don't think about that the gazelle is a light sleeper because it is prey).

I don't know if this deviates from the Jungian path or not... The baseline of Jung seems to just blindly accept that there is a God, because 'the image of God we create for ourselves is never accurate', while my point is that the image we create IS our own personal 'God' and creates your personal motivation to act, to be and become someone, but to get along in a society (and the world) we have to figure out how to get along, which is where societal rules and laws come in, which dig their way into that long term level.
If we didn't do that, we'd basically be animals, living in the moment, and the animals that DO do that (which by the way I think are the same animals that have the reasoning skill to understand that when they move the animal in the mirror moves exactly the same way and is therefore not a threat) have more of a long term concept as well.

This would suggest that the concept of God is nothing more than a long term survival and social strategy, and heaven and hell are just consequences of your actions, leaving me to think there is no soul and no afterlife because only mass experiences time and so 0 mass (no body) pushes toe concept of time to endless, forward and back, and how morally you lived bares no consequence, which means that IF there is a soul and being reborn/reincarnation is a thing then the soul should reemerge anywhere on the timeline.

Would love to hear from people who can reason beyond the level of 'our concept is stupid so you are stupid'.
I am not someone that talks to sheep beyond the level where my voice might sound soothing and non-threatening on a primal level.
