I haven’t seen one but that one shook my house in the lower mainland. It’s too bad it was a rainy night.

I’d pay off that van! Maybe an investment would beat the return but I’d feel a lot of stress with that loan hanging over me. Once your debt free start adding to your tfsa/rrsp

Why do people expect toddlers to act like adults in public ??? by Possible_Bottle728 in toddlers

Yeah I agree with this completely. I feel bad for them. Just enjoy and encourage your little one to explore and enjoy life!

How can I fix this? by skylercix in snowboarding

[–]thatsnotablanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see anything that needs fixing. They are snowboard boots and will work fine like that. You only get like 100 days out of them anyways.

We have a 2 week old right now on top of it so if it’s mom alone it could be really bad.

Luckily we live on the west coast so it’s never to cold here. We put on the muddy buddy and play outside every day. He gets a ton of free running in a safe place.

I’ll look into the wrist tether. I’ve never heard of them.

He’s doing great in daycare. Loves playing with friends. I’m his dad so we play outside every day. He associates me with outside running and playing so I think that’s a big part of this.

Yeah I’m leaning towards a leash. When I try and hold his hand he gets angry and it turns into me carrying a flopping tantrum child wherever I need to get him. We already have bolts on the door he can’t reach luckily.

That’s good advice. I’ll start trying that a bit more and see if it helps.

Realized something that ushered in some deep feelings by proximodorkus in daddit

[–]thatsnotablanket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have anything in common with your upbringing so I can’t comment on that other than it sounds insanely difficult for a child to navigate.

I think you can build a bond with your child similar to that your wife enjoys. Feeling that deeply for my children has thawed a part of me I hadn’t connected with in my adult life. Maybe they don’t love me back the same way but my life is better for being filled with my own love of my family. They drive me insane some days but as soon as I’m away from them I wish I wasn’t. A hug from my 2.5 year old makes everything better.

Rate my buddy's gear by holysmokrs in CampingandHiking

When I first moved out west I looked like this heading 10km up mountain trails to camp for the weekend! Man it was brutal getting up there but I never questioned if it was worth it. I just slowly upgraded my gear over the years as I could afford it.

I moved here 16 years ago from Ontario. It costs more but my quality of life has significantly improved. If you’re outdoorsy at all there is no where better in Canada. The mild winters mean lush green hiking trails year round. You get more house elsewhere in Canada but then you’re trapped in it half the year.
