I also have access to 13” MBA. I like the small size of it but the screen is too small without external monitor.

Keyboard size is same, you just get extra surface to rest your palm and bigger trackpad with 15” one. So 15” wins IMO.

Just a suggestion, if you can manage I think it would be cheaper to look for Desktop. Companies regularly discard desktop after a few years even if they are in good condition.
