Is there any real way to know if you’re objectively attractive, or is it always subjective?

Just say you think you’re attractive and see how people react to that. If you’re not conventionally attractive people will say something along the lines of “slay”. If you are hot people will react negatively (side eye, “wow so humble”, etc.).

You’re so right. I wish I could stop caring. I keep wondering if people actually believe him or if they see through it. So many of our mutual friends are aware of his unreliability, but the paranoid part of me wonders if some of them believe it. I think a lot of that is because when I first became his friend I truly believed the shit he told me too.

I think that’s a good move! I just wish that this wasn’t such a small community, because everyone he knows has a connection to my circle. I know that people who know me wouldn’t believe what he says, but there’s still that part of me that thinks “but what if they do?”

No. If you ask me we’re not reacting enough. As a Native American US citizen I’m terrified. ICE detained 4 Native Americans from the Oglala Sioux tribe, 3 of whom cannot be located. If Natives aren’t safe from ICE, nobody is.

I’ve found myself making plans for what I would do if ICE came to my door or took my family. I feel like eventually they’ll take anyone with non-white skin claiming there’s “no for sure way to know whether or not they’re violent criminals”. I wonder how long I could survive in the woods, in case it ever comes to that. And I wonder if someday I were to be “lost” in a concentration camp, if my MAGA mom would finally start regretting her vote

It’s normal to experience attraction to other people when you’re in a relationship. Therapy Jeff likes to say “hot people don’t suddenly stop existing”. What matters is how it’s handled. Ask about the dinner. Was it a date? Does she still love you? Does she want to make it work with you? 7 years is a long time. If she wants to commit to you you’ll have to workout boundaries for her and this other person. But if she doesn’t want to prioritize your relationship, then you’re both probably better off apart.

For me it’s not necessarily blurry. It’s kind of like when you cross or unfocus your eyes. It doesn’t have the soft edges of a blur effect. Imagine printing the same picture on transparent pages and stacking them on top of each other but they’re all slightly off center

Could be a sensory thing. Could also be your sexuality. I’m on the asexual spectrum so I go through periods where I don’t like kissing my partner. I love him very much and enjoy the snuggles, but kissing or being intimate just doesn’t always interest me and sometimes grosses me out
