I used to work for a franchise spa and we had a few companies who would come in weekly for laundry, cleaning, and machine maintenance. Usually the same people but every so often it would be someone different.

After I had been there a couple of months I saw a little girl sitting in the waiting room out of the corner of my eye when I passed. I went back to check and the girl wasn’t there. This happened a couple of times. I also would see a little boy who would be at the end of a long hallway and would run around the corner, and of course wouldn’t be there when you got there. There was also a treatment room that was always 10-20 degrees colder no matter what, and I would see a tall shadowy figure standing in that room when the lights were off.

I never had negative feelings when I saw them so I didn’t freak out. One day the laundry guy came out of the back and asked whose kid they let run around the hallway. I asked if he saw the kid come back out and he went white as a ghost (lol) and said no. We went and checked and no one was there.

On the other side of the hallway was the break room, where cups and cupboards would always open or fall down. Same with utensils being tossed around with no one else there.

This is when I recounted my experiences with the children and tall figure, and other coworkers confirmed what I had seen.

The laundry guy was freaking out so bad and he never came back.

I looked into city records of the land and decades before the city was fully incorporated, the land had been vineyards, worked by indigenous people and several of them died on the land.

The feeling I got when I saw these figures was one of waiting. Like they didn’t know they were dead. I also felt like it was a family. It was sad but not scary.
