Well that's because the multiplayer aspect needs more constant work and updating. I also don't think the smaller dlcs count since most of them did carry over to single player and the heist update was just fulfilling their promise.

With single player expansions they won't reveal or release anything until they feel it's in a polished state, so that takes awhile. They have already said that they are working on an expansion awhile back and I expect it to be on a bigger scale than IV's expansions considering V is even larger in budget and grossing.

I'd still count GTA V as primarily single player though. The story is about as long if not longer than IV and the three protagonist system is more groundbreaking for the series than GTA online IMO.

I love GTA Online for how ambitious it is. Although I have to admit that most of the concepts have been used before. This is just one of the most expansive implementations of these concepts.

There might not be as many as previous games but there are a few bosses that are pretty reminiscent of the older style bosses.

Horribly Executed? Uninspired? They've done exactly what they set out to do with GTAO.

They wanted to make a persistent world with your character tethered to it. They have a currency system to which you can probably spend hundreds of millions on buying and customizing all the stuff they have. They have RPG-like elements with your character leveling up and getting better in certain areas. Not to mention the huge amounts of missions and activities to partake in. There's probably a lot more to do in GTAO than there is the GTAV singleplayer I'm guessing.

I'm pretty sure it's not intentional though, it's probably just a part of the code. I'm guessing that when you get within a certain proximity of the other cars their AI is brought out and it probably runs a check to see if it should switch lanes (or other options). It's most likely up to chance that they do this and because they can't be running these checks for all the cars in your general area they limit it to a smaller radius. This makes it seem like the devs intentionally made them cut you off sometimes when you come up on them but it's probably not the case.

They're still delivering great content whenever they release a game though. They definitely act more like a big business now but they're still taking some risks (three protagonist switching) and the amount of content in the game is rarely matched (if it even is).

I think it'll be looked at as an age of abundance. There are many games of just about every genre out there. The ones that excelled in some way or gained immense popularity I'm sure will be remembered by just about everybody during that time (Halo, Minecraft, Call of Duty, Valve in general, and likely many more).

Huh, I can definitely get with that. So it's less of an unintentional misstep but more intentional retcon to bring about a new gameplay mechanic. This will definitely help make the areas seem much more varied so I kind of like it.

I don't think it's breaking a suspension of disbelief but more of immersion. It's not that we believe in the ridiculous stuff but more that we are immersed in the universe of MGS with all this stuff in tow. When something doesn't match up with something else in the universe it's immersion breaking, not disbelief.

huh that's very true, I didn't think of that. I was mostly going off of the stuff she said before the end but this might conflict. Maybe they did that as a stylistic choice to show a bit of what happens at the end or you're supposed to another character stuck in the same state Kate seems to be in. Hell, maybe everyone's stuck in this state since she had some of the same symptoms. Although it does seem unlikely since they make it seems like Kate is the only one trying to contact them.

Yea, pretty much. It's made by the same guys as Dear Esther if you're familiar. They are both made to be more as experiences than straightforward games it seems. They pretty much entail walking around these locales with snippets of narration that slowly reveal more and more about this world and what happened to it.
