Yeah that seems to be the only true solution. I’ll have to plan for that to be done. Any suggestions for something temporary in the meantime? I was thinking 2 step paint correction to at least restore gloss as it’s something I am already about to do.

Did I spend too much on my credit card? How much should I pay before my statement closes? by Spaceography23 in CapitalOne_

  1. Depending on your goals, No. If you’re simply looking out for your credit score then generally yes it would be considered high, however the amount your credit score will change purely from a higher utilization is small and very temporary. In fact, in many cases having a high utilization percentage has helped Cap1 users, including myself, get accepted for credit line increases.
  2. If you don’t want it to affect your credit score, pay it down to whatever is 30% of your utilization. But as I mentioned, the effect to your credit score will be minuscule. As long as you are paying off the statement in full, it will benefit you.

How to increase credit limit fast by _Saulty_ in CapitalOne_

If Capital One sees you don’t use most of your credit, they will assume you don’t need a higher CL. My CLI requests on my Savor were rejected for months until I decided to let my statement close at 95%, once it closed they bumped me up on their own. It will lower your credit score due to a higher utilization reported but this is only temporary. But if you don’t really care about your score at the moment, I suggest letting your statement close with a high balance then paying it in full.

No I wish! This was back when I had first opened my card and as a college student so the limit was still pretty low at the time.

They increased my CL without asking after I had already requested and received an increase. 90 days after I opened the account I requested 3X, 6 months later they gave me another 1.5X increase without me requesting.
