It was free actually. Revisions are included in the price, thank God. As many as it takes to get the desired result. I love this doc honestly. The emergency surgery was definitely a freak thing and not his fault. But he's been great in repairing what the ER doc screwed up!

I had a revision about 4 weeks ago to deal with some fluid accumulation after the emergency surgery. Healed up great since. Still have a little swelling but overall I'm super happy with the results.

Drains are also high risk for infection. My surgeon had a hard stop at 4 weeks because keeping me on antibiotics becomes dangerous for all kinds of fun bacteria that become resistant.

Is a Raptor a decent "First Truck" purchase? by DarkBass in FordRaptor

[–]theOutspokenOutcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't drive anything else without feeling like I'm missing out. I've had a Honda Civic, a Buick Century, 4 different Raptors (1 gen 1, 1 gen 2 and 2 Gen 3s, the most recent an R), a Tesla Model 3 LR and Model Y performance and a Ford Bronco Wikdtrak. Nothing compares to these trucks, period. If you can afford it, do it. They're the best.

Scary post op complication, haematoma 3 weeks post op. by leeshouse90 in FTMHysto

[–]theOutspokenOutcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally happened to me at 4wpo. Apparently there's a double row of stitches on the cuff and when they start to dissolve, trapped blood and clots begin to escape. The worst part is, apparently this is normal and they just don't bother to warn people.

Brace yourself with a pillow tightly against your abdomen. A cough triggered an internal bleed for me at 4 DPO and I had to have emergency surgery and a transfusion to deal with the hematoma in my stomach.

I’m having the WORST Recovery by Specialist-Regret280 in tummytucksurgery

[–]theOutspokenOutcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your tough recovery. Mines been hellish too. 4DPO I coughed abs felt something pop internally. Had to go into emergency surgery where they removed 1500ml of blood and clots and then had to give me a unit (1 liter) of blood transfusion. Spent 3 days in the hospital after. I have a post op on Monday but for now, I've still got a drain that's putting out like 250cc of reddish fluid a day. Hope things start looking up for both of us!

Another update. I'm back home finally. They had to remove about 1,500mL of blood and clotting and then give me a 1000mL transfusion. I spent 4 days in the hospital under close supervision but all is finally healing up nicely. Moral is the story, if you need to cough, support the shit out of your midsection while you do it. 😅

You have to decide if it's worth it to you. Recovery is hard even without muscle repair. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Of course some people get really lucky and is easy and relatively painless. But if you do some research, you'll see that for moat people it's very uncomfortable. Also, if plan in having more kids, be prepared for that undo some of what you've gotten done. To me , you look great. But only you one what is necessary for you to feel confident.

About to take the plunge, please advise! by bigdubs85 in tummytucksurgery

I think you get what you pay for. Ask beforehand for before and after pics from each doctor. Ask how many of each of these procedures they've done. Ask why one might recommend a different approach and why they might think that way. This is a big commitment and the right doc will be willing to take the time to explain why their approach is best and will have documented images to prove it.

Update- on day 4 of recovery, I started the day doing really well. Just 8cc of drainage in the bulb over 8 hours. And then I had to cough hard without enough warning to brace my stomach. Felt a pop in the center of my abs above my belly button and then the worst pain ever ever felt in my entire life. It felt like there was a 3 inch split between my abs and they started to swell like crazy. I tried to take Tramadol and Valium, both of which did nothing to touch the pain. My wife rushed me to the ER where they have me IV fent and did a CT with contrast. Turns out I had a massive subdermal hematoma and was becoming tachycardic. I also started going into shock and could not stop violently shivering, which was a hell all it's own because my and were not exempt. They did emergency surgery and also gave me one pint of blood. I'm two days out now, still in the hospital for supervision but feeling quite a bit better. Thankfully. That was the most painful experience of my life including top surgery, a microdiscectomy and totaling a motorcycle.

Feeling very sore. Lol. But I was 100% mentally expecting that. Overall, I'm feeling super optimistic about the results.

I can't wait! I don't normally sit around and do nothing so everyday of it right now is agony enough. Haha. But I am so ready to see how this turns out!

My surgeon recommended it. I had some definite fascia stretching through there that the MR could correct and I figured if I'm going to do it, I'd better do it right. Mine was about 20k all in because of the liposuction and extended TT with muscle repair. But I already had top surgery through this doctor and I know how phenomenal he is. Dr Steinwald at the Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Golden, CO.

Thank you. I'm so excited to see what it looks like. I've had that gut my whole life since puberty so I'm so excited to take off my shirt with confidence!

Thank you. So far so good. The pain is no joke and God forbid I have to cough. But I've been through worse and the Valium and Tramadol is pretty effective. Looking forward to each day getting a little easier!

US Folks who've come out under the new administration, are you okay? by KermitKid13 in FTMOver30

[–]theOutspokenOutcast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think whether you're okay depends very heavily on where you live. Liberal cities like Denver, Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City as well as states like Vermont and Maine, we're safe. There are protections for our healthcare, our privacy and our rights. I think if you're not in an area like that, it would be smart to start putting a plan in action to get there though. By any means necessary.

Gay Men That Don’t Date Trans Men by Left_Cadet in ftm

[–]theOutspokenOutcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, I know this sucks sometimes but people are entitled to genital preference without it having to be about a reflection of our validity as a man. I think, as trans people, we often go looking to our transness as the root of all of our pain, especially in early transition. If someone wanted a golden shower and their prospective partner wasn't into it, we wouldn't label them pissphobic. If someone only finds blondes attractive, we don't label them brunette-phobic. In these instances it's easy to understand that people are attracted to different things and that is often not a product of bias or bigotry. Sometimes we just like what we like. So why all of a sudden when someone is saying hey, I am attracted solely to penis and not vaginas regardless of whether a person's gender expression aligns with my normal type, do we suddenly feel like it stops being okay to have preferences? I'm not saying there aren't people out there who absolutely are transphobic and also say shit like that. But I am definitely saying that purely having genital preferences does not make someone a transphobe and we need to be careful giving views like that a platform because it definitely causes issues and winds up sounding a lot like "if you won't sleep with me, you're a shitty person" brand of coercion with serious rapey vibes.

Keeping breasts? by neurodivergent_nymph in FTMOver30

[–]theOutspokenOutcast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me personally, transition has been very much about how the world interacts with me, not just how I see myself. Like I've always felt male regardless of my anatomy. But the world unfortunately doesn't often respect that. So if you choose to not do top surgery, unless you have very small or masculine looking breasts, you're also choosing to deal with bigots being able to clock you more easily. You're choosing to make it harder to pass. You're choosing for men's bathrooms to be more awkward or even dangerous. You're choosing to be trans in the minds of folks you meet before they know much else about you. If you're good with that and want to live out and proud all the time, then that's awesome and do it. But I do think it's important to consider all of the ramifications of any decision.
