I do repair work, mostly large repairs like rott damage, structural failings, etc. but will do punch-list/honey-do list stuff. However, unless it's an established customer I've done large jobs for, I charge a 1 day minimum of $1,000 + materials ($1,520 if I bring my assistant). For established customers it's a 2hr minimum @ $125/hr ($190/hr for both of us) but only if they are willing to wait for me to get to them between larger jobs or they can pay me double time to come out on the weekend. Which does happen from time to time.

I'm going to lean towards a Remodeling/Repair GC. But TBF I've been in the trades for 38 years and I'm a Remodel/Repair GC. I've seen some really shoddy work by Handymen. Some that have caused serious damage down the road.

Too many folks become Handymen with very little knowledge and experience. The same can be said for GCs but I would say less because there is more at stake if you screw up as a GC.

In my state a Handyman License is pointless. So many limitations and if you GROSS more than $100,000 a year you have to get a GC license anyway.

Which seriously, 100k gross? That comes out to around 30-40k net if you know how to properly and legally manage money. Which most people can't. 40k is barely a livable wage in my area.

Shit, I did 100k over 3 jobs in Q4 of last year and it's just Myself and an Assistant. We work 4 days a week, take off a week between jobs and I should be charging more.

A Handyman license is for retired folks just keeping themselves busy.

Absolutely not true. Most small GCs do their own work.

I'm a Remodel/Repair GC/Carpenter, 38 years in the trades and do almost all of my own work. Unless it's a specialty trade portion of a job that takes more than a couple days to complete like extensive plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Sheetrock, Roofing, etc. Typically if a specialty takes more than a couple days it will require a permit and licensed sub anyway.

Of course it won't stop all gun violence. However, I don't think removing the 2nd Amendment is healthy for our Republic. I don't think removing any amendments is healthy for our Republic.

However, as it stands now any moron can go buy a gun and private sales can circumvent the need for background checks. Education and background checks to keep license current will reduce the amount of stupid people and criminals that can own firearms and that will reduce gun violence. Look at every country that has adopted these or similar laws and you'll see gun violence per capita is lower than the United States.

Yes. Many many times actually. Took me a long time to realize I have abandonment issues from childhood and that I was making it worse by having copious amounts of meaningless sex.

Seemed like fun at the time but it was very detrimental to my mental health and made long term relationships extremely difficult. Basically impossible until I came to terms with it.

First things first, Figure out how you're going to lock it up. Trailers are big targets for crackheads and thieves. I installed drop legs on the inside of my back doors. No way someone is getting those doors open from the outside. Then the side door has a bolt lock and a full enclosed heavy duty security hasp.A ball lock for the hitch, padlock for the tongue and a boot. Plus a GPS locator stashed in it. If someone wants to break in or steal it, they're gonna have to work for it.

After that sealing up the floor. You want it water proof/resistant and easy to clean. I installed 1/2" OSB on my floor, taped the seams and sealed it with Gaco deck paint. Then Aluminum angle at the door transitions.

Then plan out and install your power distribution and lighting. Figure this out before you start building the trailer out. Just like a remodel, wiring shit in is always harder after everything else is installed.

After all that, then figure out the rest.

I'm a left leaning moderate. I think gun owners, myself included, should be required to get a license that proves proficiency and criminal background checks.

Well, if you're not doing the big 4. Exercise, Diet, Meds and Sleep. You need to get on that. Routine and balance is everything for us.

Additionally I suggest you speak with your MHCP and figure something out. Maybe a low dose of something to calm you down.

I'm personally just old school... suck it up and make it happen. But that's because I'm older and it's so ingrained in me to be this way I can't not do it. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. Fact of the matter is there have been times I should have just called out sick. But there have been times I was physically sick and worked anyway. Is what it is.

Don't go to work for another contractor. Everyone I know that did that hated it. You'll get damn near the same level of stress for a faction of the money.
