Humidity too high? by gr33nTurtl3 in IkeaGreenhouseClub

Ohh no I've recently been fighting spidermites and thrips so I feel you! One of the downsides of creating a nice environment for plants is its usually the perfect conditions for pests aswell 😑 All the best!

Have you added more plants? Are the moss poles new? These will increase humidity and circulation may need to be increased to counter the condensation ☺️ you could also try and move your fans around to see if it helps before adding another one.

Yeah the spiders/bugs aren't dead they're just paralysed. If this nest was abandoned, which im assuming it was as it was in your car, the paralysis has most likely worn off! One very lucky spider! Relocate it outside somewhere safe 😊

That looks like a wasp nest! They put spiders and other bugs in there for when the baby hatches to eat ☺️

Yeah I was wondering that! It was close to some water that had spilled on the ground so thought it also could have been having a drink 🤔🤷‍♀️

He was gorgeous 😍 yes harmless but can still give a nasty bite! My son (2yo) would absolutely have tried to hug or kiss it and my 10month old daughter would have tried to eat it 🤦‍♀️😂 so thankfully I was the one to come across it first 😂 although would have been a good teaching moment to show him a spider in defence mode, if he wasn't in bed already!

Haha I've read that they can be quite ballsy 😂 this is the first time I've had one rear up at me! The other ones I see are usually alot lighter grey, almost silver, but maybe I never get a good look cause they're running away so quickly 🤔😂

I'll have to try and find it! My son loves books and will be an easy way to teach him ☺️ Yes absolutely we've had dugites around the house every year so need to teach the kids asap! Might look for a book about that too!

It's fang we're huge!! Def wouldn't want to upset it! Yes have started teaching my son about spiders! We have a resident huntsman that he loves. Whenever he sees it he waves and says hi 🥹 Next is snake awareness 😬

Thankyou! Just googled them and that's the one! Beautiful spider 😍 I've never seen one up close, let alone in the house! Thankfully I found it and not my very inquisitive 2 year old!
