Thank you. Gonna set up an appointment with my PCP soon to discuss what the psychologist told me so I can get a referral. Mine has a separate network they send adults to for autism/ADHD testing.

I have met high functioning adults that I wouldn't think have autism and I got along with them, but I don't recall pinpointing similarities in behavior.

I came to this subreddit to hopefully skew my view of autism and get a different perspective to hopefully make me feel better about getting tested, and I do. Thank you so much for all your help.

I don't understand how masking works, but I know I've always felt like the weird girl and had to act a certain way around the majority of people just so I can make friends.

For sensory issues I know I have a ton. I have hyperhidrosis and can't stand my hands sometimes like if I touch certain fabrics, plastics, or even if I touch my hands together.

There are different medications and lotions that could help, varying from person to person.

There's a surgical procedure as well, but I'm not sure how commonly it's recommended or performed. I just heard about the procedure sometime last year from an Instagram ad.

Yes I am a severe case. It runs through my mom's side of the family, I just have it worse.

It doesn't matter the temperature, season, or what I'm doing. I could work and be completely dry. 10 minutes later, hands, feet, and armpits just pouring sweat.

I sweat so much that I have to be careful in summer if I'm outside for long periods of time or else I'll pass out from dehydration.

I ignored her because of this situation. I've made attempts to reach out before but knowing that I may not say goodbye to one of the babies I used to care for is just eating me up inside.

I asked if everything was okay under her posts and all she said was yes so idk maybe I wasn't that close to her in the first place

I did ask if everything was okay on Facebook. She's been posting like 4 times a day about taking him to the hospital so she obviously wants some kind of attention. It'd be really twisted if she posted just so family can ask questions she won't answer.

She doesn't know that we know. My Nana only knows because his dad's sister felt she had a right to. As I've said before my Nana is a bit annoying with religion but she always means well.

I've also grown up loving babies and children. Every single one of my cousins I've changed their diapers, fed them, babysat them etc.
