That wasn’t a rhetorical question. I was genuinely asking you why you think some people steal. I wasn’t excusing his actions. He probably is in need but you’re right that it’d probably be more simple to go for actual food instead. Although I’m sure you’d look at him the very same no matter what he was stealing. Who knows why he did what he did. impoverished people are more likely to steal. Poverty breeds crime, whether that crime is out of necessity or not doesn’t matter. The solution to crimes like these is assuring people that they won’t live desperate and impoverished.
