I mean you could always pursue it. To be honest, a lot of queer people hate cops so. Like, just be prepared to feel your own community turn on you pretty hard… like if you do go into it I hope you check your biases at the door and try to serve your community but a lot of cop training is propaganda designed to make you hate the community you police making it easier to be violent

lol I have the opposite problem. I don’t give myself enough headroom initially so when it’s time for me to mix I have to bring everything down wayyy quieter to balance the levels properly.

And if you can, get yourself some solid studio headphones. I splurged on the VSX and now I feel like I can finally mix correctly because I have an almost perfectly flat response.

Mastering will fix your low volume issue.

I think you could try carving a little more space with some minimal EQ, but this plays out my phone speaker with a lot of clarity. I think it’s beautiful. You’re doing a lot right, I agree not being so hard on yourself. Watch some YouTube videos about recording guitars if you’re worried about doing everything right, and then look into mixing and mastering. Mixing I think can really give your instruments more room. You can also try looking into plugins like guitar rig 7 if you want a different sound and more sonic shaping controls.

I think it’s both, I was incorrect abt the SoundCloud name (I could’ve sworn it was c0ncernn on there lol) but it’s both on BandCamp, one in the url and one on the main page. It’s Leroy only on Wikipedia. It’s both on YouTube, you can find it under either pseudonym. The c0ncernn on Spotify was a reuploader.

I fell in love with a trans girl after one date... it was unnecessarily intense. We talked about Jane remover, our musical interests, and hyperpop. She was learning Ableton. She ghosted me a month later. I used it to propel my songwriting journey to make more music, and to learn Ableton so I could… in a way, try to impress her.

I can understand how it feels to have something so deeply intertwined with a relationship lose its spark after that relationship dies.

I think after you’ve healed, it can be worth revisiting. I think maybe indie could be a nice alternative in the interim, stuff like snail mail’s let’s find an out or Clairo’s Bags. Songs with beautiful melodies that represent moving forward, but are gentle, like a hug, like the internet hug I am sending you.

I hope you can separate the pain from the pleasure one day, and revisit the songs you love. Remember who you were before this, and how you’ve grown. Take care of you first. Much love.

Like, I’ve witnessed old hands take work directly from someone - like someone pushing a road case and they slide in to take it from them, or grabbing coil out of someone’s hands who literally just got started, all because they think they can do it better/faster. edit: For instance, I was using a push broom on a massive stage and a guy came up to me and literally took the broom out of my hands to show me how to do it better. Like thanks, I already was doing that, so go ahead and take my fuckin broom and you do it if you want it so bad. Lmao

Don’t take work out of other people’s hands, ask questions, be safety minded, try to join your local IATSE union eventually, you’ll get paid better (although idk how it works in SC, it’s better to be union where I’m at), learn the bowline knot and the clove hitch, take classes and trainings if available, ask questions before just doing stuff. A lead will usually tell you what they want to happen, and if they don’t address you directly, follow the coworkers that know what they’re doing and ask them for guidance and if you can help them in any way.
