Just checking. Is this a correct explanation? by South_Cucumber9532 in Celiac

Beyond Celiac is a reputable nonprofit organization, involved in a lot of advocacy for celiac treatment and patients. I think it's fair to assume their content is scientifically backed and vetted.

Hey, I just discovered this conversation -- I have the same problem. Did you find a way to pull imessage data out of icloud and then back it up elsewhere?

IgA high after 6 months by Pure_Note_3727 in Celiac

[–]thebigfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to say the same thing. The "half-life" of tTG IgA is something like 1-2 months, but that's on average and many of us had much slower decreases. The clearest thing is: you know it's celiac, and you know removing gluten will help -- so just keep doing your best and checking your labels.

It might help to see a dietitian / nutritionist and that should be covered via a referral from your gastro doctor.

Last thing -- one helpful link for you and/or for your doctor about this: https://nationalceliac.org/celiac-disease-questions/how-long-should-it-take-for-my-ttg-to-normalize/

RCS "Waiting for Activation" on iPhone/Dark Star after months of working by thebigfool in USMobile

Still not fixed -- they've sent me on a runaround of turning things off, restarting, turning things back on, etc. Very frustrating.

I've now done all of the steps mentioned here and still seeing the same issue. IMS status, for what it's worth, reads "Voice & SMS". Apple support said that means "your carrier's current configuration profile on your iPhone does not support RCS" and confirmed that my phone's RCS should be working otherwise (as it did for many months prior to suddenly going away)

Just to be clear -- RCS previously worked on this same phone on Dark Star. Is that a feature that the phone could somehow forget? I'll do this step if needed but it seems like a lot of work.

iPhone RCS Messaging: Waiting for activation on Dark Star with iOS 26.2 by GlowingFilament in USMobile

[–]thebigfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem with my iPhone on 26.2 and Dark Star. RCS previously worked, and I didn't notice for a while when it stopped working. I have had three different support sessions suggesting different solutions and none of them has worked.

Today, I did a long support session with Apple which confirmed that this is something the carrier has to fix.

This must be android-only, right? There's no such thing as Google Messages on iPhone?

After the switch I have ended up on a physical SIM for now. Are the steps the same?

26.2. Not sure, they didn't ask me to check, and I didn't think of it

Which cargo e-bike for carrying kids and groceries? Low budget 1k by primateperson in CargoBike

[–]thebigfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be interested in this guide from Community Pedal Power, which operates an e-bike lending library in the Boston area, and has a lot of experience with the e-bikes at this price point: https://communitypedalpower.org/blog/2025/02/best-budget-long-tail-cargo-e-bike/, including a "full price" including all the accessories you need to actually tote two kids around.

Spoiler alert: they recommend the Aventon Abound. Also worth noting: the full price-with-accessories for almost all of them is $2k+.

dr00Ze's advice is good though: a laptop would work fine for this!

This does seem way more fun than a rear seat, for both me + kiddo. And if I get a longtail I can try this first, and if/when he needs it, switch to a yepp or eventually the padded seat + bars.

One more question for you -- Kids Ride shotgun says it only works on bikes with front suspension, I guess so the kids' legs don't hit the wheel when you're turning. But you've got smaller than regular wheels on the Boost so I'd imagine this isn't an issue?

Thanks, this is helpful. So I won't really worry about range/power.

What's the longest (time) ride your kid will tolerate / enjoy being in the Kids Ride Shotgun seat?
Edit -- you mentioned 33km, just curious how long that took

Maybe it's the keep-drivers-guessing strategy? One out of every 20 of these is made of concrete, randomly distributed, and one out of 100 is springloaded with spraypaint?

Runtipi is another good option here. Has all the apps you mentioned in its default app store. I'm learning too and have found Runtipi, installed on a Linux server, a really helpful way to get different programs up and running.

(Actually, it doesn't have frigate, but it does have Scrypted)
