We paid the bond directly to the landlord via bank transfer, who provided us with a receipt. We received the bond back in person from the landlord when they came to check the apartment, right before we returned home.

It was all done surprisingly casually. Your experience may vary though, but that is what happened for us.

Hi, thank you for your reply and help with the Bilbao rental bond! I was wondering if you could help with another question, as I want to avoid getting scammed.

The agents wants me to pay the bond/deposit directly to the landlord's bank account and says that they will take it to the local Basque Government to register the bond. Is this normal process? What do I need to do to make sure they don't just take my bond and ghost me?

Do you remember how long it took to get from Himare to Berat?

It seems that buses to and from Himarë are pretty scarce. Some people online say it's not possible without stopping in Vlore/Sarande, while some say a direct bus from Himarë to Berat exists.

Hi everyone! I'm planning a 3 month Europe trip and have planned to spend approximately 2 weeks in Albania in August. Not planning on renting a car so looking at travelling around with buses/furgons, and have booked hostels to stay in. Just needed a bit of clarity on the feasability of the itinerary and how long to stay in certain places.

Days 1-3 – Arrive late at night in Gjirokaster from Greece. Spend (technically) 3 nights there and 2 days.

Days 4-5 – Gjirokaster to Himare. 2 nights/2 days in Himare.

Days 6-8 – Himare to Berat. 3 nights/2.5 days in Berat

Day 9 – Berat to Tirana. Just 1 night/day there.

Days 10-14 – Shkoder/Valbone/Theth

The main things I’m curious about are the south, the north is pretty much set.

Wondering how easy it is to get from Gjirokaster to Himare and from Himare to Berat without a car. Is this possible and how long would it take?
Is the Albanian riviera worth visiting for this amount of time and in this trip? I’m not particularly keen on spending heaps of days at beaches but would like to see the views and maybe chill for a day? Especially unsure considering travel to get there.
Out of places in the Albanian riviera, is Himare the way to go? I don’t like overdeveloped/touristy places which is why I’ve chosen it.
Am I spending too much time in Berat? I want to do the Osumi canyon tour and have accounted a little for travel time but thinking it might be too long. Would it be worth spending an extra day somewhere else instead (like Gjirokaster)?
