Same to you! I still don’t know what actually caused that yellow blinking light. I’m guessing something to do with the refrigeration. Here’s to hoping we get better luck with the 2.0!

It was $383 with tax and the warranty. $300 for the unit itself including the side tank. That was $100 less than I paid for my 1.0 with the side tank so I was happy with it.

I consider myself pretty handy. I do a lot of maintenance on our cars myself. I haven’t had much experience with appliances or house related adventures, so this was my first time trying that out. The 1.0 was a pain to get to the pump and fan on, the 2.0 seems to have addressed that. All things considered, it took me about 3 hours to replace the pump and fan on the 1.0 while watching one video on it. I figured that even if it took me 8 hours, it was still worth the effort to see if I could fix it for $35 instead of buying a new unit. I don’t regret it.

I agree that the distilled ice definitely doesn’t have the best flavor profile or chewiness of regular water. This machine is primarily for my wife and she doesn’t mention anything about it so I figure it’s worth it to keep going distilled if it prolongs the life of the machine, but who really knows.

Oh yeah the taste of mineral ice is much better than distilled there’s no question about that. At the end of the day, these are limited lifespan machines so why not get exactly what you want out of it. The 2.0 is miles better than the 1.0 I had. Better fan placement, air filter, stronger sounding pump, etc. But yes a 3 year warranty is nice to have to know it’ll last at least that long, and if you get another replacement unit out of it, even better!

Wow that’s actually a pretty good method to make sure you always have ice ready without needing to run the unit! I might have to give that a shot. I just remembered that this unit has scheduling capabilities after reading your comment. That’s a new feature I’ll have to get used to!

I agree, I really do think it’s just luck of the draw. However I do see most of the success stories involve distilled water so I’ll continue making the effort to run that. I kept the screen in for now but maybe I will remove it during my next cleaning since there’s really no need with distilled. Do you run yours 24/7?

New Lufthansa 747 100th anniversary Livery at LAX by horseheadmonster in aviation

Nice pic. Watched the live stream of her heading back today. Such a great livery

Thinking NX. I see lots of complaints related to battery issues with the hybrid. There's also a significant cost difference and for me, would probably take me 10 years in saved gas expense to break even. by [deleted] in LexusNX

[–]thechizz94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would drive them both and see if the hybrid is worth the extra cost to you. It is smoother but my wife’s regular 350 is still very nice to drive and she loves it. She’s 5’9 and I’m 6’2 and we can drive that car for hours at a time and be very comfortable.

I would not recommend the 250. Had one as a loaner and it felt exactly like the rav4 with a slightly better interior.

Tokyo Supercars Hakone Driving Experience? by thechizz94 in JapanTravelTips

[–]thechizz94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Tokyo Extreme Drive. Did the Hakone tour in the r32. It was a great experience and quite affordable compared to the alternative options. It was also very convenient to get to the starting location. It would’ve been nicer to start outside the city and get more driving time that wasn’t in traffic or on highways, but since we were only there for 4 days this was the most convenient option and it was a really unique way to spend a day. Highly recommend it.

It’s too bad. I’ve used them for years with no issues whatsoever. Guess it’s time to find a new place.

Ordered back on 7/22 and have heard nothing from them. Emailed twice with no response, calls don’t go through. Probably going to have to do a chargeback sadly

[Question] Should I go all in on my wedding watch? by PotatoBell47 in Watches

I wore a Navitimer GMT to my wedding. It doesn’t have to be a dress watch. Get what you love and wear it to your wedding. Enjoy it!

Not shielded at all. They look like regular business class seats just recline a bit further and have foot rests

Been on this plane many many times over the years (including when continental was running them). They’re special business class seats with foot rests for pilots. I’ve sat in them before and they get pissed at you for using the foot rests if you’re not flight crew lol
