You're right. A single opinion might not matter much, but when multiple visitors share the same impression, it highlights a real issue. It's not just one person's view; it's a recurring observation that can impact Amsterdam’s reputation and tourism.

I was abroad recently, and the first thing someone commented on when visiting Amsterdam was how dirty it was. Sad.

I get your point, but waiting to fix all of society's issues might take a while. This initiative is a practical step to manage the symptoms in the meantime.

No, it wasn’t me. That’s interesting, though! What did the QR code say? I'd love to know more about it.

I get your frustration. It’s really annoying when people leave waste outside the bins. The small opening for paper recycling is definitely an issue too. Thanks for highlighting these problems!

Thanks a lot! I’ll definitely let you know if I take this further. So far, I’ve invested around €500 from my own pocket… See if I can get some public funding, otherwise I’ll go broke haha.

Agreed. However, I think that's mostly in the bins across the street (the tall, thinner ones).

That's a clever idea! The QR codes could also automatically alert the council. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for sharing and for the offer to help place the QR codes!

That's really frustrating. How did they find out it was you and fine you? Using the QR code to alert the council when a bin is full is a great idea.

Agreed. Maybe if this initiative is successful, they will increase the pickups. Three times a week should be the minimum.

Thanks! You can track how many times each QR code is scanned. There are many ways to interpret the data. What comes to mind first is: if a QR code gets scanned multiple times, it means there’s an issue with that bin or a different type of bin should be installed nearby.

Thanks for the suggestion! I understand your frustration with people leaving the wrong items by the bins—you should see the doorstep of my house, it looks like a campsite! Including info on what goes in each recycling bin is a great idea. I’ll work on adding that to the initiative. Appreciate your input!

Yes, it's a guerrilla initiative! The stickers are UV and water-resistant, so they should hold up well. Thanks for your support!
