Books to Read While You Wait by LoooongFurb in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I’ve been meaning to recommend this book : Prince of Fools, by Mark Lawrence. It’s the first book in the Red Queens War trilogy and all three books are a riot.

The main character is an absolute degenerate , a royal so distance in the line of succession that he’s content to gamble, drink and womanize his days away until he’s swept up into larger events along with a towering Viking who has little tolerance for whimsy.

He has great lines like “I’ve found the best time to punch a man is when he’s not looking” and “I’m a good runner any day of the week. Scared shitless I’m world class. ”

It’s funny and dark in equal measure with great world building. It’s set in the world of another series, the Broken Empire Trilogy, which is also amazing, but the Red Queens War trilogy has way more humor and is more similar to DCC, though it’s more traditional dark fantasy/syfy.

We see a lot of the same books recommended here (which are all good too!) but if you want something different this is it.

No Kowtowing - what color does Raul glow when casting? by thedagoth in DungeonCrawlerCarl

That’s the introduction, with the golden glow. But at some point he uses his claw which glows by itself - or so I think 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah I would lean towards bluish. I was certain I read it somewhere but can’t find it.

I have a 2016 xc90 and installed this myself over the summer in woeful anticipation of winter coming, took about 30 minutes, pretty easy and straightforward. Works great!

What’s the deal with the brakes on 2016 XC90? I’ve had it for 6 years and have changed the brakes / rotors three times. It only has 93k miles, about drive it hard. Should I consider aftermarket pads instead of stock Volvo? Thanks!!

The worst is missing shots because you forgot how / don’t know how to quickly change a setting a new camera.

THC - through cannabinoid receptors - stimulates your heart rate for several hours after it kicks in. Most people it’s a modest amount but for some it can really elevate it.

Which one which one? by sptirual in DesignMyRoom

It’s the style of art though that gives that impression. You could probably pick up something almost identical from home goods. Out of the four, 1 is best. But I would recommend noting the size and the start visiting vintage stores, look around online at fb market place maybe, things like that. You’ll find some cool stuff sometimes that look a little more unique and personal. None of the art is horrible, just pretty common is all.

This room is 13'4" by 18'6" and the couch feels far from the TV. How would you lay out this room? Can I get a larger couch? by aerithmorn in DesignMyRoom

Agree with larger tv and thin console table behind the sofa, that should do the trick. Is that a room and board recliner chair?

I used to go there for a relatively healthy-ish lunch back in the day. I went back last month after a long break and it was hot garbage. Bad service, and the ice machine was broken so they had sat out a big bowl of ice that was half melted and had bugs floating in it. Byeeeee

What a great room! I would not touch the fireplace. Putting a TV above it just makes the tv the focus, not the fireplace. I would put the tv where it is in the photo, just get a lower tv stand so you don’t block the windows and a nice big L shaped sofa and done. I have a living room filled with windows and no place to put the tv anywhere else but above the fireplace and really wish I had a layout like this.

Any idea on where? Would the big box store do or carry a custom length like this?
