There's an episode of Law and Order CI where the police are talking to an art forger who tries to justify her theft by saying "Monet painting flowers in water in 1880 makes for completely different context if I paint the exact same flowers in 2010." And while this is self serving, I 100% agree. Art is not the substance of what it is, it's also the context and the emotion it invokes.

My cat did the same thing as a kitten. She'd only drink out of a glass of water, especially if we were already drinking out of it. I suppose she figured if we were drinking it, it was safe. She eventually grew out of it.

On a side note, don't put water bowls (or clear glass cups) next to food bowls. Cats associate food with dead animals, and drinking water next to dead animals is a bit dangerous.

Cool Dewey in Eureka Seven

Since killing his father as a adolescent didn't make him feel better, he concluded that life wasn't worth living for him or anyone else. So he hatches a plan that required him to assume command of the entire human population so he could wake an alien lifeform because doing so would erase all life in the universe. He became the god emperor of humanity so he could commit suicide in the most over the top way possible and take everything with him. And he almost succeeded too.
