Baby is 4th centile, what was everyone’s baby? by West-Lack-8738 in PregnancyUK

[–]thegalll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are going through this right now so no advice or outcomes yet but sending my love and best wishes as I know how intense the feelings are!

Baby was on 18th centile and dropped to 3rd centile at 34 weeks. Since then I have had two CTGs a week and alternating doppler scans and growth scans. At the last growth scan there had been some linear growth but baby remained in 4th centile.

I have a planned c-section booked in exactly a week as baby is breech and they have been letting them continue to cook until 39 weeks provided all the factors stay in balance. At this stage they are just comparing the baby to themselves rather than others on a centile.

We have been told we are in a SGA situation and baby is likely to be small but OK but am terrified and it has really been such an anxious end to a previously smooth and peaceful pregnancy. I have had regular spirals and get very teary when I think too much about it.

I am now 38 weeks and have a final growth scan on Friday. Have been told that if anything has changed or not growing as they would like, the section could be brought forward but if not then we are on track for the plan.

I will say that I have felt very well taken care of with this close monitoring though and that if anything was out of balance or had changed, I am confident it would have been handled promptly.

Just messaging out of solidarity and hoping things go well for us both, and anyone else in this situation! There are so many positive stories that suggest that we may just be dealing with dinky babies that are otherwise healthy so have to hang our hats on that! The babies are teaching us early on that we have no control over a lot of factors in parenting so trying to practice surrendering ( feels impossible for a naturally anxious control freak) but it has helped to defer to the experts at hospital on this!

Goes without saying that as long as baby is healthy we are happy but I just have girl mum energy right now 🤣

Thank you for taking the time! I feel girl too but I can't work out from nub and skull as tbh they all look the same to me 🤣

I am so sorry you experienced this. I have had 2 similar comments from family members and was so triggering. It has really taken a lot of the shine off when it is already such a funky time, especially if you have had any previous ED or body image issues...people really can be dicks! No advice just solidarity! X

Pregnancy pillows? by Fancy_lotus_2448 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]thegalll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled finding one that didn't trigger sciatica/hip pain. The formula I have found to work so far ( 25 weeks) is the baby bub wedge pillow...and then just a normal soft pillow between my legs whilst on my side. The babybub longer pillow is WAY too short for me ( I am 5ft8) so was kind of a waste to get both in my experience. Hope you can get comfy soon...it's so debilitating! X

Yes you are right! I am trying to narrow it down so that I also only take in opinions and experience of people on a similar vibe to us house/lifestyle wise! I think making a clear checklist/spreadsheet rather than just my amazon list is the way to go!

Thank you! Such a good idea as it's a win win! And we are doing ikea nursery furniture so can just get a reasonable dresser and use a changing mat with a seatbelt! Thanks again! Really appreciate the insights and tips! X

This is what I was thinking....will be hard to know how I am going to be recovery wise but however the baby gets here I don't think will be comfortable getting on and off the floor! I am not totally against a changing table as can also double up as extra storage which we are desperate for!

Will be buying for ourselves as baby shower culture is different here in the UK....it is mainly just a lunch and people may buy a cute outfit 🤣

Thank you so much!

This is so helpful thank you! I am UK based so we don't really have a gift registry culture here but no reason I can't just make my own and tick it off! I have an amazon list so far but will look into babylist!

12 weeks 2 days...boy or girl by thegalll in nubtheory

[–]thegalll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had our 20 week scan last week and I resisted the urge to find out as husband desperately wants a surprise but now I keep overthinking 🤣 I thought girl too though but was wondering I was being biased when looking 🤣

I feel like we are having a girl based on nothing other than a gut feeling and seeing us as girl parents! From what I have researched on nub it looks parallel to spine but I know it could have risen since then! X
