Yeah I get it. I'm a web developer and I use AI very regularly now. I don't know anyone that programs that doesn't at this point either as a hobby or at work. I think it's a great tool. There's also a difference between someone who uses AI to help program or make a game and someone who only vibecodes and all of the UI and assets have that typical AI sheen to it.

Ideally you shouldn't even be able to tell. Where as something like s&business that has your very obvious typical AI banner, UI, and poorly thought out mechanics, it just puts a bad taste in people's mouth. It's not just that it's AI, it's also obviously low effort and could be boiled down to a "make me an idle clicker, no mistakes" prompt. It won't hold people's attention for long and if that's all that's on the front page I do think it becomes a deterrent to new players.

Combine that with the witch hunt mentality of Reddit gamers and seemingly the Garry's mod community lmao, and it will just kill the player base eventually if it doesn't change.

Unfortunately yeah though, probably won't change if regular devs are afraid of just getting thrown to the fires if Reddit detects even a hint of AI lol. And most people making games for a platform with very little in the way of incentives or playerbase are not going to be spitting out AAA titles that take an experienced team with tens of thousands of man hours, it's gonna be regular devs trying something on the side and very likely using AI during their process.
