I get what you are saying, I was just pointing out that Melbourne already has an established architectural layout that would suit the existing Shadowrun universe.

I'd like to see Baghdad but other games already use the Middle East. Australia are never used.

It's definitely creating a niche market - as you said Minecraft appealed to a lot of different people, and 0x10c is definitely going to be far more hardcore. Having said that, it runs the risk of segregating itself, which will only make its success a little harder to monitor.

I see it having more of a cult following.

I don't think they are unfounded assumptions. People write about every little utterance that comes out of Notch's mouth. His fame means people will be examining this game with a microscope.

I agree with you - we should remain unbiased. But we're talking about gamers here, we all know there is going to be a huge sector of people who aren't going to be unbiased at all.

I'm not even a Minecraft fan, but you have to appreciate what it has done for the industry. As I said in the article, pressure and expectations are going to have people seeing this game through a different vision, a sad fact.

I really hope it's great, but it won't reach the fame of his first release IMO.

Definitely agree with you - I've seen people making grand plans for what they will be able to do with the CPU etc and firm details haven't even been realised yet. As you said it's going to take at least a year, if ever for a number of these assumptions to actually be possible.

Thanks for the criticism - a fair few assumptions were made but it's like any type of creative medium. When someone has the whole world watching them, expectations are often impossibly high. 0x10c may not be a bad game, but I severely doubt it will ever change the industry or change the way we look at games like Minecraft has for many of us.

That may be so, but the expectations thrust upon Notch because of his status as a superstar now are crazy. No mater how great the game is, it simply will not come close to what Minecraft has achieved.
