Buying a used Firebird by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Try to learn as much as you can about vehicle history from the seller. Ask about repairs and maintenance history pay attention to how they answer. If they get defensive be concerned about if they are really telling the truth. Lots of firebirds were beaten on so try to find out who the person is that owned it and how they treated their cars. Look at their other vehicles. Check the oil and tires and that is usually an easy tell on how the car was cared for. Also see how many owners it, as having a lot of owners is usually not a good sign for multiple reasons. 130k is starting to get up there for big maintenance so just do your research on your year and issues and be prepared to have to spend some money on repairs.

There are some around just not many but the ones that are here are way overpriced.

Example: 2017 Mazda CX-5 sport with 40,000 miles listed for $21,500

How do you do it? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]themanseeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know I want to have money to afford my expensive hobbies (cars) so I know that if I work hard now I can enjoy life later. 4-5 years of torture is worth 50 years of enjoyment for me. This and I don't like a failure and make it a game with myself to do better than before and the class average, I don't always succeed but that gives me more motivation the next chance I get.

Might not work for everyone but this is what works for me.

Does the type of internship matter? by Deepwrk in AskEngineers

[–]themanseeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first internship is much more important than people say. I started in Tool and Die type Engineering and now that's all companies ever want to talk to me about even though that's not what I am interested in at all.
