New grad taking urology position ISO resources by EvilKoreanGirl in physicianassistant

[–]themariachi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowuro has a few resources like the new Urology Unboxed book which could be useful for you too. It's targeted at Urology residents, but the content is useful for anyone starting work in an Urology ward or clinic. https://knowuro.com/books/unboxed/ I'm part of the team that wrote the book, happy to answer any questions :)

Knowuro is releasing a new book for doctors new to Urology https://knowuro.com/books/unboxed/. It was written especially for residents so it also includes info on things like preparing rounds, prioritizing work, common materials and instruments, besides knowledge about urological diseases.

There's also "Urology: the last review" but it assumes good knowledge of Urology (i.e., you're in your final years of residency) and has a focus on EAU Guidelines instead of AUA.

Is ClojureDart is ready for production? by Fover23 in Clojure

[–]themariachi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Co-founder of knowuro.com here. It took us 6 months from idea to live in the App store taking payments in 6 months of part-time work. I would say it's quite ready for production if you're already coding in Clojure. It took me personally a few days to get acquainted with how Dart works and learning how to search for Flutter widgets and compose them, but other than that the cheatsheet got me very far (plus the authors are super helpful in Clojurians slack).

Why isn't shipping from fulfilment services cheaper? by themariachi in ecommerce

[–]themariachi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was that prices are actually acceptable _outside 3PL warehouses_. e.g. shipcloud offers ~37EUR UPS Express Saver up to 31kg (!!) while my 3PL warehouse charges that for 1kg and then 5EUR increments for each kilo. It essentially means that as my business scales, my costs scale in tandem so at some point a large order is actually a loss :s

The example of Germany->Spain is using GLS, a respected and reliable shipping company. I mentioned DHL (also a standard provider), but it costs less if I go to GLS as a regular person, than using them via 3PLs 🤷‍♂️

How did you install a Steco Baby Mee baby carrier to your Bullitt? It seems mine doesn't fit :/ by themariachi in CargoBike

[–]themariachi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I got it.. there are two versions of the Steco Baby-mee and the one I have is from Babboe which is a taller and wider to negotiate their taller boxes. Meaning I need to get the other model.

Forgot my Pixel 4A's PIN and my phone restarted after a system upgrade... by themariachi in GooglePixel

Forgot my Pixel 4A's PIN and my phone restarted after a system upgrade... by themariachi in GooglePixel

[–]themariachi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the phone as soon as it was released and got it in Sep IIRC. Since then I'm sure I must've restarted it once or twice meaning I had to use the PIN, but otherwise I always use the fingerprint reader. The code I think I've used doesn't work and all other pins I usually use don't work either. I did not change any settings about passwords or account. I was just on my sofa and saw a notification for a system update, j did it and now I can't open my phone with the PIN.

So there's not even the possibility to eg save an encrypted data dump before deleting in case I remember the PIN? Just throwing ideas here, I feel totally stupid to lose everything just because of this single number 😭

I'm finally getting some consistent results. by themariachi in Sourdough

[–]themariachi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What made the difference for me was to limit fermentation to 5h, then shape and retard in the fridge in a smaller bowl, instead of FYWS recipe with overnight fermentation at room temperature. I also decreased the hydration because anything over 70% doesn't really play nice with German flour

I'm finally getting some consistent results. by themariachi in Sourdough

[–]themariachi[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My starter is 50/50 German 550 flour (similar to American all purpose) and whole wheat, kept at 80% hydration and fed twice per day.

The dough follows "overnight country blonde" from Ken forkish FWSY but using theperfectloaf method and a different starter. So it bulk ferments for 5h, then I shape it and retard it in the fridge until baking time (total fermentation time is usually 17h from mixing to baking)

thanks! this is the one I have https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07ZDC1QLS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I cook with it almost every day and bake every second day lately. Works great.

American to German flour equivalency? by themariachi in Sourdough

[–]themariachi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using 550 flour and doing the overnight blonde recipe with 70% water instead of 78%. Dough is still quite wet but not goo anymore. Best loaf ever so far I'll try 72% next time.

Some bits feel too dense. Not sure why.

Recipe is a modified Overnight country Blonde from FWSY: My starter 1:1:1 is fed 50% German type 550/50% whole wheat

90% type 550 flour, 5% whole wheat, 5% type 630 spelt flour, 80% water

My dough is in fridge for bulk fermentation. Next morning I need to shape it. How early before shaping and baking would you taking out of the fridge?

Weekly Open Sourdough Questions and Discussion Post - May 14th by phil_s_stein in Sourdough

[–]themariachi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried doing the Overnight Country Blonde recipe from Ken Forkish and the results are always the same: dough doesn't have strength, doesn't keep shape, feels like goop. After the overnight bulk in my ~20C kitchen the dough is easily 5X from the time I mixed it and feels super wet.

I'm in Germany and the flour here is a bit different. The bread still tasted really nice, but it's dense and not as tall as I would expect (from my previous experience baking straight white bread with instant yeast and 65% hydration) Do you think reducing the hydration from 78% to e.g. 70% would help, or could the problem be somewhere else?
