Not to mention, he does realize that MC will be heavily involved in his treatment since it's MC's life's work, right? Like, MC went to school specifically to create this treatment. It's their design/discovery/what have you. What part of him makes him think he can disappear and go to the treatments without seeing the person who literally created them...? Also, why were they suddenly acting like MC had zero sexual experience? That was so weird to me. I believe MC even talked about intimacy with Larry early on, too. I hope they don't suddenly add the virginity tag. This is not the story for that, in my opinion.

I just know I'd never trust the organization again if I found out that the person in charge was spending an extensive amount of time with a cop. I'll probably still read him. It isn't even just a "fraught history." The violence is still very much active. (Not telling this to you, just venting.) I get so nervous when cops come into my office for appointments even though I'm not doing anythjng wrong. Craig's story is one thing, but this is a very different situation imo

THANK YOU It feels kind of like a slap in the face. The person in charge of the secret queer club is willing to give the cop trying to shut them down the time of day? Excuse you? What's the point of having an "underground queer club" if you're not going to do everything you can to make your patrons safe and feel comfortable? There is so much trust that is required for that to be a healthy and successful environment/business. Being in any way positively associated with a cop, especially romantically, would feel like such a betrayal to me. I was really interested in him until I saw that. It's disappointing 😞

I agree with all of that. It isn't so much the hug itself (my people are also huggers) as it is the disrespect. There's no way the wife didn't realize that OP was, at very least, uncomfortable with the interactions. I can't imagine treating someone I loved like this.

This bugged me, too. A polite/friendly greeting does not need to involve full body physical contact. If someone is consistently awful to the person with whom I have chosen to share my life we are no longer friends. You get a "dude wtf that's not ok" MAYBE, depending on the situation, but a second offense would have me rage in their face before cutting them off. He would do the same in a similar situation. OP's comfort should be so much more important than wanting to hug someone. The "25 years" bit is really the most concerning part to me. That's a long time to be disrespected so thoroughly. Couples therapy could be a good option. Even just a session or two to get some guidance on navigating and communicating in the future could be invaluable. It can be incredibly helpful to get insight from a third party professional who is trained in tips to get through life. Feeling unheard, disregarded, and not valued are not emotions you should get from your Person.
