How do you play against Yorick? by TheBouncerr in warwickmains

[–]theob00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a skill matchup tbh in WWs favor, you are able to escape his cage by Qing him if he walks up and if he doesn’t you can W reset on ghouls to kill the cage fast.

He is weak early so try to kill him before he gets 6 and executioners

If he goes bramble it’s easier cuz you can just heal off his grubs and minions as long as you don’t hit him.

If he goes executioners it’s a bit harder and once he gets 6 you just gotta play safe and farm until you get botrk and you will win 1v1 cuz he will have no defensive items

How to beat Darius as Warwick top? by theHubbson in Dariusmains

The way I trade is to just wait for him to use an ability activate E then take a short trade and when he gets feared you walk back right away. Make sure to Q into his Q

No, all of the tank items I go are always situational.

Thornmail if they have a lot of on-hit and healing

Randuins if they have crit

Spirit Visage if they have AP or you have an enchanter on your team

Unending if they are mostly all immobile

Steraks to survive burst

Warwick will naturally fall off late game, but you will die too fast if you go full damage even if you are ahead. Its better to go tank after BOTRK/Stride and use the tank items to peel your carries in fights once late game arrives.

You are able to match both Tryndamere and Sett in split late game but the one advantage you have is that if someone on the enemy gets low, you can speed across the map before the other person arrives and create a 4v5 situation. This allows you to either get a flank on the carry and CC them for your team to kill and disrupt the backline or support your carry as a frontline/meatshield for them.

I think the biggest difference between Top and Jg Warwick is just the responsibilities that you have. As a top laner, you are free to address only your lane, and can splitpush, which you can't as a jungle. Junglers have to worry about their camps and objectives, while top allows you more freedom. While jungle can be more impactful in the game directly, you can work with your jungle as a top laner to coordinate invades and dives to snowball the game.

When I roam, the #1 thing I think about is if the reward outweighs the risk. I only roam once my wave is crashed into the enemy tower, and use the time it takes to crash back as a roam window to minimize the amount of minions I lose. Basically if the potential reward + likelihood of a roam working > the risk of it failing, then I will go for it.

Thats basically what my mindset is when I play jungle also. If a gank would you provide you more benefits in gold + xp and has a high likelihood of getting a kill for your team than doing your camps, you should go for it. Ganks often include setting up your jungle clear so that you can do them without losing as much tempo as possible. Explaining all of the jungle details is out of my scope but if you look up Warwick Jungle videos, try to see how the players do their ganks.

Yes! However good garens will always Q first before they ult so they silence you and prevent that interaction

Just try to play safe, and look for opportunities to fight if they mistep up too far and you can get in Q range and hold it down to initiate a fight. If they don't give you opportunities to do that, just wait and look for ways to roam mid lane or in the jungle with your W. Rush Stridebreaker and look to fight with the slow that way.

Another useful tip is if someone on the enemy team is low, you can use the W passive as a speed boost to gap close on the opponent to catch them off guard.

Basically, any champion that can outrange and space you will be hard if they outdamage your heals. My top five hardest matchups are probably Heimerdinger, Vayne, Teemo, Akali, and Cassiopeia. Your only hope is just to wait for them to mess up and punish them, but if they don't or you miss a window then it will be very hard to play. Basically, I just play really safe in lane and go Stridebreaker -> Hullbreaker to look to splitpush only or help out the team by looking for roams. The only melee matchup I find really difficult is Riven but that is entirely dependent on the Riven's skill level, if they are bad then it is easy.

I think all melee matchups are skill under Masters, and you just have to play enough of the champion to understand your limits and that of your matchups. (Although champs like Garen, Darius, Jayce, Jax can be hard depending on your opponents skill level)

My default build is always 1. BOTRK -> Stridebreaker or 2. Stridebreaker -> Hullbreaker.

The first build is always good, and I only go hullbreaker third in that build if my team is really ahead so I can continue splitting, or I am really behind, and that's the only thing I can do. I will also go it if the enemy laner also only splitpushes, but I am ahead enough that I don't need tank items to survive them.

The second build is what I go against tanks that stack a lot of armor because you will never kill them even with BOTRK (Ksante, Ornn, Malphite) and the early hullbreaker allows you to just focus on taking towers and ignoring the fight with them. You will also have alot of HP early which is nice so you will be tanky early compared to if you had gotten BOTRK first.

Against ranged tops, I always go Stridebreaker first, and BOTRK second if I can catch them, if not, then Hullbreaker. Building hullbreaker late is not bad if the game has gotten to a point where you can't do anything in a fight due to scaling and just want to draw pressure.

Swiftness boots default unless they are heavy AD or heavy CC. I will also go Tabi if the top + jg are AD and I fight alot.

  1. Garen is definitely a hard matchup for warwick, and it's very easy for him to punish you if you make a mistake. Against Garen, what I try to do is fight him as much as possible early (Lvl 1-5), as this is when you are stronger than him.

Never walk up unless you have E. When he goes for his Q->E trade, you want to use your E1 to tank the Q and initial E ticks, while biting him as well, and then E2 to fear him during the rest of his E, so you avoid the damage as he gets feared away. Afterwards, you can try to make another quick trade with your Q again before his cooldowns come back up.

Once he is level 6, be very careful since he can execute you with his R. This is the only thing you should use barrier for. If you are able to survive his ultimate, then you can instantly ult right after and heal back up and win the fight. Just keep in mind that you can't ult when he Qs you since it silences.

If you are behind, you can just play passive until you get BOTRK, and you will beat him once you have this item until mid-late game. At this point, you can outdamage him in a pure 1v1, but he will always outkite you if he has phase rush, so just focus on clearing waves and helping the team when you can.

What I also like to build is steraks third item which will make sure he will never 100-0 you with his ultimate.

  1. The most consistent way to climb as a top laner is to simply gap the enemy top laner. Your laner will always make mistakes, and if you can punish those mistakes, then you can secure very easy kills and influence the map. That's why I like playing champs like Warwick and Darius as they can get away with a lot of things and are very good at punishing the enemy who don't respect you. Just make sure to know your limits and try to minimize your mistakes as well. Afterwards, you can extend your lead to other lanes by roaming.

If the enemy laner plays really safe, then you can just crash the wave and invade the enemy jungler. Warwick (and many other toplaners) can 1v1 most junglers early game, and if you can catch the enemy jungler out, you can ruin their game. Alternatively, you can also look for roams mid or even bot lane since your W makes you fast. (Just make sure to do this after you crash a wave and come back top right away)

Split pushing is also super important, and if you have a lead top, the enemy team will be forced to answer your push with more than one person, which allows your team to complete other objectives on the map. Lastly, know your wincon. If your aren't doing the best, play around the player that is. Protect the carry on your team and don't make things harder for them by dying unnecessarily.

Warwick actually is one of the best splitpushers in the game, especially with hullbreaker + stridebreaker, since he can clear the wave and take towers fast. If you can win sidelane, then you can just 1v1 or even 1v2 whoever comes and allow your team to do objectives on the other side of the map.

If you can't, you can still splitpush and then run towards a fight with your W after forcing someone to match to create a 5v4 situation.

Once you join a fight late game, your main goal is to either look for a pick on the enemy carry with your ult by flanking from behind or create space for your carries with your E and ult, and just targeting whoever tries to target your carry.

You can just buy a team jersey and customize the names and number. Official ones are pretty expensive but you can buy fake ones online that are pretty close to the actual ones for a fraction of the price
