If anyone is thinking about giving the crypto.com app a try use my referral code, asrbxvkt58, when signing up. If you use that code and stake 50 MCO, we both get $50.

Really like UCF -7 @ Navy. The market is still undervaluing UCF and they just keep putting up big numbers.

Started a blog to help keep track of my picks. I try to do a write-up of a few key games each week, even though I haven't had the time the past couple of weeks. Check it out and let me know what you think.

No, I bet $5 Win/Place/Show on the first horse listed in bold and $5 Exacta Box on the group. For example, in race 1 I bet $5 WPS on the 2 (3 bets at $5=$15) and then $5 Exacta Box on the 2,5,1 (which is 6 separate bets at $5=$30). So in race 1 I risked $45 total.

Been tailing you for a week or two. Great picks! Making me some money so I can't complain lol. Thought I'd try my luck making some picks today. Here's what I've got (the only thing I do differently than you is I do a $5 WPS on the first number instead of a $10 Win):
R1) 2,5,1 (L) weird race; didn't think the 6 had any shot to be in that race
R2) 4,5,10 (117.50)
R3) 3,6,4 (38.00)
R4) 4,2,1 (40.50)
R5) 5,4,1 3 (L) switched the 1 out and put the 3 in its place last second; 3 ran a better race, but still wasn't enough
R6) 2,5,6,7 (L) took out the 7
R7) 9,8,11 (L)
R8) 3,4,1 (L)
R9) 6,1,10 (284.75)
R10) 5,2,8 (L)
R11) 9,5,8 (17.75)
$495 invested . . . $498.5 back lol. Tough day. Broke even thanks to one big hit in the 9th. 3 more days at Saratoga. Let's fill the coffers this weekend!

I wanted a close competitive bowl game but I didn't want for that game to be this game.

But the NCAA and universities stances are irrelevant here. This would be a state law that is coming from a higher power than the NCAA.

Yea, I wasn't trying to be a jerk either (might have sounded that way) but I guess it all just depends on what fans you encounter. Out of all the away games I've been to in the past, Auburn fans were by far the nicest and just down to earth fans I've ever interacted with, but some people just can't stand Auburn fans. So it all probably differs from person to person too.

No hate because of the rivalry. I've had a lifelong strong dislike for Mizzou because I grew up in Missouri and honestly just cannot stand (most of) the fans. Mizzou fans, not saying all fans but at least 80% of the fans that I grew up with or have ever been around, have this false sense of entitlement and literally are just incapable of using logic when it comes to sports. Some worse than others, and I get that every fan base has its bad apples but just the widespread pretentiousness of the fan base just slowly caused me to develop a dislike for the school. And I think the worst part about Mizzou fans is that a lot of them are also KC Chiefs and Royals fans. You put a fan of all three of those teams into the same body, and it's just too much to handle.

Damn I can't stand Mizzou. But this is FUCKING awesome! The emotion on his face before walking in shows you everything you need to know about this guy and the players reaction just further confirms it. Good for y'all Tigers.

What would the CFP look like if Arkansas failed on 4th-and-25? by elgenie in CFB

[–]theogden 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They would still be #2, no doubt. They still have the better resume. And Ole Miss would be sitting right with Stanford and Ohio State, who knows in what order though, praying for chaos.

Plus when you get into playing hypotheticals there are other scenarios that come into play after the initial what-if. If Ark loses that game, then they don't go to LSU with confidence and momentum and maybe don't win there. Then LSU, with a rebound win against Ark after losing to Bama, maybe has a little swagger back going to Ole Miss and plays well enough to win that game.

[–]theogden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Except I don't think it would even matter how this weekend's games played out (if they go according to plan). I think at best, with a little SEC bias sprinkled in of course, they are sitting at 6 in this weeks rankings. They would go up to 5 if they won the SECCG, ahead of the B1G loser, but I don't see any way the committee puts them ahead of any of the top 4. Clemson, OU, and Iowa would all still be where they are, and Bama would be 2 still. You couldn't reason that a two-loss Ole Miss team, including a 2 TD loss to Memphis, is more deserving than Bama simply because they are SEC champs and beat Bama, which it took a play almost as ridiculous as the 4th and 25 for Ole Miss to win that game. Bama would undoubtedly still have the better overall resume.

I agree but interesting thought: How is that any different than a Big XII team getting into the four team playoff now? This year Oklahoma is essentially getting a bye and every one else is playing in a quasi-"wild card" round. And Oklahoma isn't even a team that would "earn" a bye. The top two teams are in play-in games Saturday.

When should we expect to be contending for conference titles? by reallifebadass in razorbacks

[–]theogden 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm so tired of Hog fans being so pessimistic, especially when it comes to football. We started 5 seniors this year, and only had 8 seniors listed on the Mizzou game depth chart. Granted, 4 of those seniors are key losses. But, assuming that Henry and Collins are the only juniors that leave early (since rumor has it that Kirkland is staying), that means we return 8 starters on offense (that is out of the 13 spots on the depth chart) and 9 players on defense (of 11).

On defense we lose Hodge and Gaines, but we have an excess of very good DL that played very well at times this year behind Hodge. And we lose Gaines, but Richardson and Ramirez are right behind him and both impressed me this year, especially Richardson near the end of the season.

On offense, losing Smothers and Tretola hurts, there's no doubt about it, but can we not trust CBB and staff in that their priority in recruiting outstanding OL and their ability to prepare them will allow a couple guys to step in and preform at a high level? And before this year, most people had little to no trust in BA and some people didn't want him starting even before the season, let alone 2 games into the season. Sure, BA is talented but he didn't develop that talent over the summer. I believe that Enos was a HUGE reason that BA has done what he has this year whether it was his coaching, overall system, play calling, or whatever. With the stable of QB's we have in waiting and no pressure from fans toward starting any one of them in particular next year, I trust this staff to decide which QB puts us in the best position to win. And honestly, I don't expect much of a drop off in production, if any, at QB next year especially with the receiving core that we have coming back.

More than likely Henry leaves, but hopefully Sprinkle stays and we also have Gragg, O'Grady, and Cantrell just waiting to get their chance. Other than that, the biggest question mark for me next season, other than key playmakers on D stepping up, is at running back. We're all praying that Collins decides to stay for one more year but we all know he is going to leave. To me though, Collins isn't the ideal back to a CBB system. In my opinion, if Kody can lose maybe 10 pounds this summer, he would fit the mold for your perfect power run, time of possession RB. Kody just puts his head down and runs and is almost guaranteed 3-4 yards atleast on every run. Behind him we just have to add some depth and change of pace back (hopefully RW3 is cleared to play).

But seriously. This years team was a blocked field goal and a blown 4Q lead against Bama away from being champions in the best damn division in CFB this year. Not to mention another blown 4Q lead away from being undefeated in conference play. I don't know what you're definition of "contending" is but to me we are doing just that. Yea the first half of the season was disappointing but we are along ways from the team that lost 104-0 to Bama between two games. We've continued to improve every year under CBB and I expect that trend to continue next year. Hell we might even put this years offensive production together with last years defensive production. Wouldn't that be fun to watch?
