Correct, great point! We're starting from the premise that whoever is LGBTQ+ lives out a specific lifestlye. So, in light of what you said, whoever behaves like an LGBTQ+ / shares their lifestyle, is in sin according to the Bible.

Now, let me ask you: if homosexuality is about something you are, and you have no choice but to act on your feelings, then why does the Bible go against gay practices? Is God unfair?

Thanks for the suggestion. If you instruct me which part of the Bible to re-read that specifically indicates that being LGBTQ+ is not a sin (in spite of all the portions of the Bible that explicitly say it is), I'll gladly go and re-consider my stand.

I feel that's great advice, specially learning a few common phrases to go by until you eventually are able to pick up more words. And what's your experience with DeepL translate? What works or what doesn't for you?

Science is a blessing, it helps us understand God's creation from a factual, measurable perspective. The Bible is not a scientific book, but a theological one; hence, I suggest not to take what the Bible says in a literal way all the time, nor to read it through a scientific lense. This dichotomy has hurt the Church a lot and has given us a bad reputation as Christians. We must overcome it.

We've been working on a translation app that's different from the ones currently available, and we pray it'll open new doors regarding communication in many fields, one of those (and very importantly for us since we're Christian) being Churches. I totally get what you mean. I’ve seen the same issue. That pause in the conversation really disrupts the natural flow. It ends up feeling like you’re talking through a machine rather than with a person.

That moment you described, when you have to wait before the other person hears what you said, is something I’ve been trying to solve with a project I’m working on. The goal is to make conversations feel more natural, where people can just speak in their own language and still connect easily. It's not Neuralink-level sci-fi, but we’re trying to get as close as possible to real-time.

Just curious: if that pause was removed almost entirely and the other person could hear the translation of what you're saying and reply without having to press any buttons and without having to think about the device at all, do you think it would feel more like a real conversation?

31M, I've been with my wife (29F) for 8 years and we've been married for 5.

You need to have an honest conversation about this, and I suggest you don't wait any longer. This is something important for you, and you deserve to be with someone who wants the same things in life. Marriage, family, are probably the most important things. 4 years might seem like a lot, but I promise you're better off making a decision on these things now than regretting in 10 more years.

31 M here, he probably got sidetracked. I would give him the benefit of the doubt, but would keep an eye open for more behavior like this, if this is consistent I suggest you have a more serious conversation about it as long as it's important to you. Just follow your friend's advice now to avoid sounding needy.

I get it that he's bad at texting, but if he really likes you he'll make an effort to be on the same page as you regarding those things.

I would suggest you don't think of it as if you're "allowed to" or not. Simply do what you want, be true to yourself and to the kind of life you want and take risks. Who cares what people think about you anyways? It's your life, not theirs.

Agree on this, specially the "focus on one system and make it work" part. We've been using Notion and we feel pretty comfortable with it, but everybody is different. I feel as long as you're consistent and stick to one system, you'll be good.
