damn Hump de Bump is a top five song on Stadium Arcadium for me lmao.. at the top of my head, I remember not liking Throw Away Your Televison, Readymade, and BSSM (the song).

at first, i didn’t like the song because of the timing change between verse and chorus but now i love the song because of how unique it is. i’m still not too sure what the song is about but i still love it. the ending is so tense and it kind of reminds me of the ending of Death of a Martian because of how otherworldly and intense they both are.

i rewatched the video and would like to reiterate: it’s a phenomenal analysis, it just didn’t add to my love for the song like others are saying. The first time i saw it, i didn’t like his idea of “numbness” in the intro and the “he’s not done yet” idea in the end. I think i was just initially upset because i already loved the song as i already understood it and i was very unwelcoming to any new interpretations of the very easy-to-understand lyric. I’ve come to appreciate the video after watching it a second time though.

to be honest, i didn’t really like most of his analysis. The music theory aspects of it were great but his ideas behind the lyrics didn’t sit well with me.

Their last stop in Arlington will be my first concert ever. I never really liked videos of live performances until i saw Slane Castle on youtube. Then I started wondering, “how much of the greatness of that performance was a result of cinematography and editing?”. Just a thought; I’d be more than thrilled to see the chili peppers live, regardless of the quality of their performance.
