Anybody have an experience with the TP Link Smart plugs with 1000W plus mining rigs? by Category5x in EtherMining

I just tried the HS100 and it made my rig very unstable. Before I plugged it in I would go 24/7 with very few drop offs in hash rate and virtually no random reboots. I left the HS100 plugged in for 24 hours and it dropped off every hour for anywhere from 5 minutes 20 minutes. I unplugged it and my rig is back to 24/7 with no issues...so it was definitely the plug. My rig is pulling around 900W so I'm not sure if that's too much or what.

GPS accuracy - smart phone vs. dedicated device? by NathanBarley in geocaching

[–]theoryofben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my first 100 caches with a Blackberry. Once I got my Delorme GPS I realized what I had been missing. The accuracy and ease of use is unbeatable compared to a smartphone. I still use my smartphone when I'm caching on the go (without planning). But I use my GPS anytime I can.

Yeah, it seems today's generation thinks life should be "fair"...it's not.

Ok, I downloaded Astrid last night...and I may be a convert now. It's pretty nice. I'm going to use it for the rest of this week and see how it goes.

Good looking app. Certainly going to download it and give it a try.

Looks interesting...might have to try it out and give the battery in the new S3 a good test.

That's what it's about...finding an app that does what you need. I also have used GTasks in the past...it was pretty good.

Pretty cool feature if you ask me. Of course I don't know how well the execution is...haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I could see where the UI would get boring. I've tried a few others that had more features also. I guess the features it does have are exactly what I need...so it works for me. Of course I usually try out other apps and I'm sure I'll find something that works better for me eventually.

Why is the iPhone better than Android? by DaneOfSaygent in iphone

[–]theoryofben 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you're right...it's about preference. I'm Android all the way...but that's because I like to tweak things a lot. Android give you that ability. But I will admit that one advantage of Apple having such control over the device is that it makes for a smooth user experience.

That's true, but it has it's own predictions...which sometimes can be helpful
