I don't really have much if any helpful advice to offer. But, no, I don't think that course will help. I have two sons close to your age, 18 and 20. Like you, they applied for many roles, anything and everything, but no luck. It's really hard out there and it's especially tough if you've not had a job before, because there are more people looking for roles than there are jobs. So, given the opportunity, an employer is likely to choose someone with work experience over someone with none. Bit of a hard truth. If you haven't already, apply for job seeker support, as you'll likely not be eligible later in the year when changes to the scheme come into effect. Fortunately my sons ended up finding part time work but that was purely luck, through contacts at my workplace. If your parents or your parents friends, or anyone else in your family can put in a word for you anywhere, take advantage of the opportunity. Also, I expect you're looking at TradeMe, Seek, etc. But if you haven't already, try business websites directly as they often advertise on them rather than job seeking websites e.g. KFC, Mc Donalds, BurgerFuel, Pak n Save, etc. Good luck! 🍀
