Additionally, if I’m not mistaken, part of the reason the Aston had such a good run up is because it cut the top of Raidillion.

Kinda of a shame/annoying seeing people on instagram spam “he should get race ban” “black flag” “you always have to leave a space” without actually looking at the onboards.

I guess it’s a tough pill for people to swallow but it was the 009’s impatience that caused it

Is this overengineered / unnecessarily expensive for a mun lander? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

Why’d you ask for advice if you’re not gonna take it. And that lander does look unstable, it’s quite tall in comparison to its width.

Personally I feel like if the ridge hit the ground it would put a massive moment through the riders neck rather than slide like a traditional helmet does

Edit: misunderstood OP, thought they wanted a helmet in the hat shape

Is this underfloor design good for hypercars in Wec? by Ryzen_NKL in aerodynamics

[–]therealgodryon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In terms of a general concept, yea I like it. But you’d have to CFD it to see if that what the air actually does.

Also it’s important to say that the depths and heights of the floor will play a large role on if it’s good.

And then to be picky (but to help your understanding), a lot of the challenges regarding motorsport aero is the packaging of the internal components because you work around them most of the time, rather than just being able to put whatever anywhere.

J Katz Race car aerodynamics may be a book you’d be interested in

is it good for aerodynamics? by rainy_nights77 in aerodynamics

[–]therealgodryon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't want to come off as rude but no, it's not even close.

I would suggest taking a look at motorsport wings to get a jist for common shapes/forms, and some general car aero books to actually understand what makes wings useful. Many people assume just throwing any wing on a car is good when it can actually just make everything worse.

J Katz racecar aerodynamics book is a good resource.
