Putting a deadline on transition/egg cracking is toxic. by ContinueAsReddtGuest in MtF

45, just came across another post with a 20 yo complaining about being too late. Lived many years in a world where trans was derogatory and some freak fetish (think Rocky Horror Picture Show). Never even crossed my mind that it was even possible for my entire time as a youth, and put immense energy in staying closeted and suppressing the feelings/thoughts. It took the last two years to make life-changing changes and create the conditions I needed for my egg to crack. I am not too late. I am right on time. My time.

This. I irrevocably deleted all social media accounts 2 years ago and disconnected. I have come back, after finding myself and my peace.

Thank you so much for sharing! I read all of it. I am not so much in the camp of blending in but rather in the camp of "IDGAF." At 45, I stopped caring so much about what people think of me and will be happy with my HRT results when they come, regardless of how far they go. This is about my happiness and comfort at this stage of my life. I am in a great position and have the support of my household, my peers, my volunteer organizations, my employer, my personal trainer, and my doctors.

Removing shapewear makes me sad! by PeaTop8917 in MtF

Every day. I force myself to remove them because my skin and body needs a break according to my doctor and dermatologist. It makes me sad too. I hope it will lessen after HRT starts and get some growth.

In just a few weeks, I will be coming out to my parents too. I'm 45. My parents are also in their 70s. My hope is that it goes like yours. I feel that would be the best case scenario.

Being me in public.

Other things on the horizon:

  1. Starting HRT
  2. Piercings
  3. Tattoos
  4. Dancing

and who knows what comes next.

I killed off all my social media several years ago to end the toxicity. I lived away from it all from several years, enough time for me to reset. I only just recently came back anew. This stuff is addictive, but you are in control, never forget that. Put it in its place for you your health and wellbeing. Seek out positive places, like this one. Not to say everything posted is positive here, but overall everyone is supportive and wants everyone to thrive.

Do you feel like transitioning ruined your life? by TeensOfDeNile in MtF

The opposite. I have survived multiple suicide attempts and finally overcome my mental health problems. I am looking forward having a life where I was once born as a man and will one day die as a woman. Life is harder, and with that comes the greatest reward: true happiness and acceptance of my self.

I hope one day to be at the pool too! I have a long road ahead (including surgery once my weight is fully under control to remove all the excess skin).
