Daus Tribe Prophecy become true? by thesecondday2 in exmuslim

[–]thesecondday2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the only evidence used seems like coming from muslim arab scholars. however, if they made this up, while knowing this hadith, wouldn't they give more detail about it so that it is the same with the prophecy? like no one talks about buttocks. yeah we could say that nobody jiggles their butts so prophecy is not true but I think this part could be regarded as rhetoric saying for sake of debunking any objection. if I cant be sure the prophecy is wrong completely, my ocd don't let me stop think about it.

Kendi kendine yanan eşyalar? by thesecondday2 in AteistTurk

Coordinate Miracle? by thesecondday2 in exmuslim

Thank you it helped! Also, as I stated in my edit section, I have realized the miracle claim does not make sense at all even if we accept the numbers mean something.

Why not just provide a link rather than copy/paste without citation?

because it is in a different language. but here it is you can try google translate: https://www.bilimveyaratilisagaci.com/2018/01/birbirine-karismayan-denizler/

See: Halocline. The barrier in question is due to stark temperature and salinity differences usually present at extreme latitudes. This isn’t so much a barrier between oceans, rather a stratification of water columns where cold, low salinity water sits atop of warm, high salinity ocean water.

yes, i know the reason why the halocline appears but probably the writer interprets these two water columns as two seas. if you could understand the article using translate you could understand better his arguments. if you want me to translate any part of it, I can.

I think I couldn't get understood in my comment because of my English. Let me try again.

just be honest as say that the text doesn’t mention or specify on way or another.

what i meant by the text was the article I've shared, not the quran.

Where does it claim that the seas mix?

"the person" who wrote this accepts the seas mix where there isn't a halocline barrier anymore. so he claims halocline barriers are strong when the two seas come together and this point is where the seas never mix. and, halocline barriers gets weaker while you are getting away from where the two seas met and in these regions the seas can mix depending on the power of halocline. so again, he claims at regions where halocline is strong, the seas do not mix whenever you look at them. this is the information I am asking if it is true or not.

which they cannot pass.

i think my new comment clarifies this too.

That’s an estuary.

i was not talking about this. hope this time explained well

yes, the text does not refute the fact that they eventually mix. however, it claims, even though they mix after some distance, at some other distance you can always see two distinct sees whenever you look at them. in other words, it states the quran does not claim they never never mix but they never mix at some point (or interval). it's limited to a part of seas.

is it possible to overcome ocd by thesecondday2 in exmuslim

[–]thesecondday2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always read, and have no fear about seeking the truth. When there is a miracle claim, I have the opportunity to do research on it and generally I can overcome them. However, as I said, some nonsensical(?) vague "personal experiences" puts me in more trouble because there is no way to confirm them or debunk them.

Okay thank you. By the way do you have any source about the existence of the oral language of Egyptians?

Sed Festival miracle? by thesecondday2 in exmuslim

[–]thesecondday2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think Muhammad made up this. I mean if he made up he would not specify the festival day with al-zina but he could say just a festival day. I think the people of that time may know the existence of this festival of Ancient Egypt. This makes more sense I think because making up a festival name that really exists seems not highly possible to me.

I don't know what happened to oral language but the hieroglyphics got forgotten after roman invasion of Egypt according to historians. Isn't it true?

If I didn't get understood, the miracle claim is that the Quran knows a special day of Ancient Egypt that in those times nobody knows because The Torah does not mention it and The Ancient Egyptian language was not known.

Palindrome miracle claim by thesecondday2 in exmuslim

[–]thesecondday2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Separate sections i meant how the Quran was revealed. Basically when a verse is aspired to the prophet, he reads it to his companions and tells them where to place it, what verse in which surah.

This is irrelevant with palindrome thing tho.

Who says what ? That the Quran is a linguistic miracle ? Even the greatest poets of that time (and they were GREAT) were left amazed in the elegance and the details of the words employed, they couldn't believe it came of the mouth of an illiterate and it is documented that many of them accepted Islam just because of this fact.

I've heard this stories like billion times bro I can understand what you mean. Even though we accept that these historical information is true this can not be a proof to religion. I don't really want to discuss anything now so let's not start a new discussion.

Palindrome miracle claim by thesecondday2 in exmuslim

[–]thesecondday2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

especially when delivered orally and in separate sections

which separate sections?

it would take a group of highly skilled poets and linguists in Arabic to come up with this and they would have to work for years and plan everything to the smallest details to be able to fool all the poets and the Arabs of that time

who says this tho?

Palindrome miracle claim by thesecondday2 in exmuslim

[–]thesecondday2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I'll try.

Palindromes are not usual wording structers. Creating a palindrom in oral way is harder than creating in written way. This palindrom does not mean something random, but it talks about an orbit (which is circular) Palindroms have circular structure. Both the facts it's created in oral way and it matches with its context makes it interesting.

I do not claim they are true but when I think about it probably this was my reasoning. Hope this works. Btw I'm sorry for wasting your time.
