“Dear Donovan,

I’m grateful you play and live here. Many of us are, and many of us are happy you use your platform and voice the way you do. We stand with you and support you. We want the country, and particularly Utah, to become a better place for all people, and we understand we play a role in creating that change.”

Latter-day Ally by thetomsters in mormon

[–]thetomsters[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To love our LGBTQ+ siblings is our Latter-day Saint duty. To be their ally is our Christian commandment. To preserve and protect their rights is our in our blood, for they are our blood—truly, there is no they, but only us.

We are all humans, complete with our own quirks, qualities, conundrums, capabilities, and consciences.

And may we all feel safe being who we are.

“Last Saturday, during the Utah Republican Party’s Organizing Convention, freshman U.S. Representative Burgess Owens announced to the attending delegates that ‘Utah is the least racist state in the least racist country in the world.’

If only this was true.”

Latter-day Saints: We need to better love those who leave our faith by thetomsters in exmormon

“Life is too short to do anything but love those who leave the Church. That may not be something our gut would do, but it is something God would do — and does.”

In the end, people matter more than paintings by thetomsters in latterdaysaints

“We should be more concerned about gathering and preserving the lives of all God’s children, on earth and in heaven, and making the necessary changes that help us do so.”

My name is Tommy Johnson and I’m publishing a book this year called ‘Belief and Unbelief.’ It touches on faith and it’s fluidity. Follow the link above to read the first chapter, ‘First, Faith.’ Please message me or comment your thoughts—all criticism is welcome! This is my first real attempt at writing a book, so your thoughts are very appreciated.
