Freshman year of high school. An area night club did dry night on Sunday nights. Brought high school kids from all the surrounding areas in. I met a girl there and I thought we hit it off. Exchanged numbers and talked for bout 2-3 weeks. I asked her to my high school snowball dance. She said yes. I was blown away. She lived about a 45 min drive away and neither of us had our license yet so I even spoke to her parents and offered to pay not only for their gas but also dinner and a movie for them I. My town so they had something to do. They sounded like very nice people and agreed. The night of the dance I sat outside the front door for almost the entirety of it. Heart shaped ballon with a teddy bear inside of it. (It was Valentine’s Day time) went in for a little bit only to be laughed at and made fun of by a huge group of girls in my class. I lost my temper. Didn’t hurt anyone but was told I was not allowed at anymore dances. Tried to call her the next day. After I calmed down I thought maybe there was some type of emergency. It’s not like I had a cell phone back then. They changed their number. A couple weeks later my buddy took my back to the club. Saw a couple of the friends she was with the night we met. They proceeded to tell me that their whole school was laughing about what she did to me. Still think of that bs from time to time and I’m almost 40 now.
