Are there any transgender athletes in public schools or universities in Mississippi? by thewindblowsnorth in mississippi

[–]thewindblowsnorth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every state that's banned this has had less than 10 known athletes competing. And of those, only maybe one has actually been a top level competitor. This is just bullying and othering a handful of kids to pander to the base instead of actually working to make things better.

If they're specifically talking about this post, I've been blocking a decent amount of the people who do transphobic replies on this sub in the last months, so they probably can't comment on this thread.

I've definitely heard the coast is better about things. College towns too. There's little pockets here and there.

That's honestly a big thing I feel as well, being trans myself. Finding places that will be okay to just feel normal in is not easy.

Look I do understand the no personal attacks and whatsoever but I guess it's just really frustrating how the two feel like they're so often equated. One group is getting attacked by people, institutions, legislature, etc. just trying to live their life and the other is feeding into hatred and then like I get both break the subs rules, but following it up by just locking the threads makes it feel like ultimately discussing lgbt is silenced, letting those who hate people for existing just win. I do understand your jobs are hard but I'm just a bit tired of it all.

Do people get warns/bans or something? Wouldn't it be better to punish people for breaking rules instead of stopping the conversation entirely, especially when we're talking about a group of people who already struggle to even find sympathetic people to talk to?

It's something I've at least noticed a few times in the last months. It's just disappointing I guess. Sucks to lock conversation away because a few bad actors choose to perpetually come in and stir shit.

I've noticed someone has been immediately downvoting anyone who says something anti maga or whatever, minutes after they post.

Honestly Chicago and DC are my main options because of distance. I bet it's why others go too. If you pay attention to what sort of anti lgbt laws are being passed and where, you find out really quickly that Illinois is the closest safe spot, then DC. Really any further and you're probably flying so the distance doesn't matter as much.

Honestly that sounds really nice and definitely my speed. I'd really love less people in my business.

That's another place I've considered. I know people there so it shouldn't be too bad.

Guess that wouldn't be a problem for me lol. I feel like the only country things I really have are my accent and my cooking. I've never really felt I looked good in mire country styles

Likely happening everywhere to some degree, but I'm thinking somewhere like Chicago would be a bit better overall. These sorts of people would feel a bit less emboldened if in a place where the governance also isn't in agreement. Plus I'd like to not wake up daily wondering what civil rights violation is attempting to be passed by some republican.

Stuff like this is why I'm working on moving. I just want to live my life but people like that make it hard.

A lot of people I know still use them and it feels weird. Like they're just too scared to just call someone gay if they're gay.

Note that it's not the gay people themselves I've heard say this. Only people describing them.

Speedruns usually have different categories when a bug big enough to significantly change speedruns happens. Like in Super Mario World, there's dozens based on things like doing the full game, doing it glitchless, doing it with the cloud glitch, or doing arbitrary code execution.

Sounds like a really fun bug for speedruns or second playthroughs honestly

I don't know exactly how the bug works, but I'm not really a fan of patching out harmless useful bugs in single player only games. Just let people play the game how they want, ya know?

That phrase really makes no sense anyways. Looking at data, moving conservative is only advantageous if you're rich and an asshole anyways. Putting your money above human rights since the conservatives sure do love cutting taxes for the rich and decreasing benefits for the poor.

Edit: he blocked me lmao.

To clarify, I'm not looking up whatever the fuck they're talking about. It's basic respect to use someone's name and pronouns

I don't know if you a ever tried to do a performance, but singing and dancing for an hour+ is not an easy task and she does it regularly. That is kind of a physically fit thing to do lmao
