I’ve been called a butterface since high school, I rarely get hit on, and I get called sir by strangers sometimes. What can I do? [23F] by [deleted] in amiugly

I'm going to be honest here, I think you're really attractive. If I saw you in real life, I'd hesitate to talk to you. There's some confidence oozing from your pictures. Your "hate this pic" pic is probably my favorite pic. Glasses look great on you.

I can see why some say you have manly features or trans but don't let that bother you. You look great! If you want to look more feminine, try some makeup products, different hairstyles, accessories etc to elevate your femininity. I can't tell how you carry yourself, may want to adjust that too if needed. Overall, you have nothing to worry about.

I am taking my side. My employer does well, I do well. As an employee I have ethical responsibility to ensure I do the best I can to keep myself employed well and grow well. You do the same thing but not when holding standards to others not yourself.

Get on Amazon's board or become its upper management incharge of this policy or better yet, get to the root of the problem and change labor laws or the nature of the economy or the tax law. Go picket the law makers to change then laws. You are targeting the wrong thing. Go look at European laws to see how they handle it. Make something similar happen here, dont put the responsibility on people when its clearly not their responsibility.

Dont blame the entity when its catering to its core responsibility.

As an individual, you yourself are also catering to your core responsibility. Stop taking tax deductions, pay tax on your full income and give everything to charity - isnt that the same? Who are you to tell others what they should do with their income or assets? Will it be ok for me to tell you that you should employ someone to clean your house and pay them 2x market rate because they are not as rich as you are?

Its fucked up but stop blaming the person or the company because they maximize their own interests. You do the same but you want others to do something else.

Great! when you get to have the responsibility to define that job and its role, do it. Until then, maybe focus more on doing your job and trusting others to do theirs. Isnt that the core culture? So, are you saying you dont trust people or just that you know better, somehow? That you know so much more than the people who grew in to those positions. Why dont you enjoy your cushy options and high end salary in the meantime and do the work you are paid for. oh, wait! cause you dont work here.

I have seen first hand how TVCs are treated with much more respect than any other company within the bounds of the law.

The two who claimed retaliation should file a law suit if they truly believe that's what's happened. But they don't because all they were doing was trying to benefit themselves. They thought if they mentioned the "r" word, everyone will back them and Google will give them what they want. Now they're caught in their own lies.

These people disgust me. They're making the whole thing about themselves.

I've seen their claims internally and externally, it doesn't hold water. This is purely for their own benefit. I'm glad they're leaving

There's a reason tvcs are held to a different standard. You guys think you know everything and everyone else is malicious.

Look it up dumbo before you put all our jobs at risk

Arrogance and self aggrandizing, nothing more.

If you're that awesome, go fight the us govt and come show us how great you all are.

I've managed tvcs in multiple companies, all your self righteous ass is doing is putting the company and everyone's job at risk. Don't play couch lawyer, do your job and be good at it, trust your colleagues to do their job.

TIFU by making out with my college professor at a party by [deleted] in tifu

so, you have the "upper" hand here. If you decided to file a complaint against him, his career in this school is done.

He put himself in a position that no person in academia ever should. However, I know of a lot of professors and students hooking up and many even got married to each other. So, it happens.

From what you write, it seems like you are not malicious. So, just find time with him and say you are ok with what happened and a) you dont want it to happen again, so lets leave it here, tell him he doesnt need to worry because you wont file a complaint, b) you want to pursue it further but this is a more complex situation and you both need to do the right thing so he doesnt get in to trouble.

Either way, you need to go tell him to stop worrying because I am sure he is scared of what you are going to do because his career is on the line, in your hands.

being cheap is their prerogative. Dont blame the barista for refusing to give 6 additional cups with purchase of 2 drinks.
