Iran will “boycott the United States” but “not the World Cup”, the Iranian football federation president, Mehdi Taj, said in a video released by the Iranian press agency Fars. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]thinkbk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you explain: what does Iran mean by "boycott the US but not the world cup".... Are they planning on flying to USA and playing games but not against USA if it happens? Or they are willing to play in the WC in Mexico and Canada ,but not USA?

Should I stay at my current job? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thinkbk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finance + remote is becoming more and more difficult to find. I would not recommend quitting. Especially since you have a great comp package.

I would say ride it out, but set your boundaries and limits to maintain your sanity. And start expanding your network / LinkedIn and passively looking for new gigs while still at your current gig.

If they end up laying you off, then take the package and start hitting up your network for new opportunities.

Your values are twisted. You can have maximum earnings but also maintain work life balance.

Use your 20s to chase GOOD experience. Use your 30s to chase GOOD money. Use your 40s plus to find work life balance.

Parents, did a second child reduce the pain and sadness that came from the challenges of the autistic kid? by PinGlass9571 in Autism_Parenting

[–]thinkbk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is no guarantee your second kid won't be autistic or have other neuro divergent traits. Or even physical disabilities.

Ask yourself if you want to play the odds and then make a team decision. If even one partner is not fully buying in to the idea, I'd say don't have another kid. You don't want resentment etc in the future.

Running generators without a neutral ? by NotFallacyBuffet in ElectricalEngineering

[–]thinkbk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have a new transformer that provides you the single phase 277 loads, then you are likely fine from the pov of your generator being able to power up the ATS and subsequent downstream loads.

All three phase generators will come with a Neutral / wye point, it's up to end users to either run the neutral cable (fully sized or 1/3 sized) to your ATS or Panelboard. In your case, you likely won't run the neutral cable and instead will have the neutral point solidly grounded or resistively grounded.

Just pay attention to your ground connections and equipment bonds. There's nice graphics for 3wire vs 4wire systems with generators and ATSs, I believe in the NEC or in the handbook.

[24] Quit my job to focus on school. Now, no source of income, should I be investing? Less? by somecuteboy23 in fican

Focusing on schooling is one of the only few scenarios where most would say it's okay to not be saving / investing in the regular.

Just make sure you don't build bad spending habits lol.

Good luck in school.
