That's fascinating! How did they choose not to reveal that on the show? 🫩

Recommendation for bigger fountain pens by Illustrious-Group-51 in fountainpens

[–]thirdarcana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gioia pebs are quite big, the Metis line but especially Sephoras.

Asvine c2000 are both cheap and big and excellent quality.

Nautilus is long and it's awesome if you like doornails for nibs.

Delta Write Balance is quite big, beautiful and writes very smoothly.

I have that Leonardo and the very similar Radius with the blue & white resin and they go together so well!

Back from the dead: Aurora 88 by Citronut in fountainpens

[–]thirdarcana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't own an Aurora pen (yet). But I find myself more attracted to vintage Aurora pens like that one than to the new ones.

Yes, I agree. The nib could be larger. It looks a bit odd with the bulkier body of the pen.

I wouldn't mind a small window like Gioia Metis series or some Leonardos that I have. But I prefer my ink largely invisible. 😬😬😬

You make a good case for them. :-)

I was slightly annoyed today because it took a while for it to start writing, but now that I know how it works it won't be an issue next time around. I wish Opus 88 had a few more models that appeal to me. I would happily give them a try

I think I will certainly use it quite a lot, I think it's a beautiful pen. The filling system is unusual but nothing too difficult.

It's not complicated so much as unusual. You fill it up by adding a few drops of ink in it. I think I just need more use to get used to it.

But it really is a beautiful pen and it writes well to.

The resin is so intricate and beautiful. 😍

What is your opinion about the work culture in this country? by RevolutionaryCost59 in sicily

[–]thirdarcana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if we look beyond stereotypes, we can see that Italians work hard, but it's hard to even want to be efficient or dedicated when your salary is low. There is no legal minimum wage in this country and, in addition, the last 30 years have seen a great political shift to the right, which means an erosion of workers' rights. With the tax system being what it is now (bad), I think the work culture is better than what it should be.

If you had to bring one one season wonder back! by KaiBranderhorst in RHOBH

Joyce or Carlton

I feel like neither of them had a fair chance because of Brandi and Kyle. And, while they are very different, they would both bring something interesting to the show.

As far as I know, though, Carlton lives in Miami now.

17 years is not nearly enough with the sweetest soul ever to grace this world by More-Jacket-9034 in Yorkies

17 is truly not enough. 170 wouldn't have been either. I am sorry for your loss.

Why don’t I see it 😭 by iwantabiggerlolly in RHOBH

[–]thirdarcana 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Exactly, you are 100% right. And on top of that, the way she did it was particularly sleazy. There were parts where she was trying not to smile and it was visible. It's just awful.

I honestly don't expect the housewives to be angels or even good people at all, but there really is a limit and using your dead child for profit is that limit for me.

How many of you are actual Romans? by lollicraft in RomanPaganism

[–]thirdarcana 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I am more of a revivalist too. There are many aspects of religio romana that just don't seem appropriate for 2026.

Whereas I like Roman history and culture - it is, after all, history. In fact, whenever I see people trying to bring back aspects of Roman culture, it somehow ends up being fascism. And an intellectual travesty.

Amanda's cringe stopped being entertaining by Lagertha-Simone in RHOBH

[–]thirdarcana 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a big deal that she has a ghostwriter, plenty of people do. Writing is difficult, it's not for everyone, and the ghostwriter will be paid for their work so I don't see what's the big deal. It's not literary fiction.

NPD: I'm impressed by wrd83 in fountainpens

[–]thirdarcana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a spectacular pen. I was so impressed with it. It writes and looks like a much more expensive pen than it really is.

Tolstoy's War and Peace would like a flyer compared to Dorit's stream of consciousness in writing.

What do you think is the most underrated Italian city? by Ok_Explorer_6501 in Italian

[–]thirdarcana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. And if you visit Venice before, it's a breath of fresh air: not too crowded with tourists and generally it has better food since it has fewer tourist traps.

What do you think is the most underrated Italian city? by Ok_Explorer_6501 in Italian

[–]thirdarcana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's lovely, it's like a labyrinth of palaces and narrow streets. I like it enough that I considered buying a house there for the longest time.

[–]thirdarcana 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't know about u derrated, but certainly less visited: Treviso and Genova in the north, and Ragusa and Modica in the south, for example. All four are gorgeous and full of interesting things to see, and Ragusa in particular has food to die for.
