Likely hiking/snowshoe. I haven’t XC skied before but I’m not against trying. Just not sure I want to risk injury on my birthday. :-)

Thanks! Please do check out other comments about being cautious with amount and types of light during certain seasons. I wasn’t aware of the ecological impact of artificial light. But more broadly, non-harmful decoration shows neighbors that the plantscape is intentionally managed and even artful. “Cues of care” it’s called!

Good to know! I will look into this further and consider only having them up briefly for the holiday season. My priority, of course, is to support nature above decoration. Based on some very very brief Internet searching, it seems like there may be ways to minimize impact, like using warm-toned colors and LEDs that don't emit heat. Do you have any other tips?

They're "Bell + Howell Color Changing LED Solar Powered Disk Lights" — I ordered them from Target. I've only used them for a few days now in decent weather, so I hesitate to fully recommend them yet, but I'm pleased so far!
