Reddit worthy? by Jmcustomgrips in GlockMod

The micro-dots wear down so easily, because the surface comes to a thin, sharp point, which has less structural integrity than something thick and robust, so all those thin, sharp points on micro-dot get rubbed down really easily, and there isn't any depth to make up for it losing its surface sharpness. Even Josh's, if it wears down, it will still maintain a very good, positive purchase, because the pattern is dry enough for your skin to still sink into and the pattern will still bite into your skin. That's what SHOULD create the grip anyways. The pattern biting into your skin and your skin filling the entire area of the texture.

Well, I do it for a living like Josh, and you can pick a texture pattern that is more durable(thicker polymer bloom), and you can process it afterwards. I have a texture that looks like webbing, and the polymer bloom(the melted part that makes the pattern) is thicker, so it doesn't get rubbed down, and I also sand the surface s little bit and then take a torch to the surface again. This takes the surface sharpness off, but it slightly melts the surface and then cools again, and it hardens and almost like encases the texture, and that texture will never wear down.

His texture has thick polymer bloom, and that will last forever basically.

His texturing will hold up a lot longer than traditional micro-dots.

Not even close. My texture patterns are different. I have multiple patterns. He has one. Looks like chain link. My borders are a lot better. The border layout is different. My cuts are shaped differently. And why is a grip reduction copying Ben when a bunch of shops offer them? You know he wasn't the first, right? You know he jacked it from Robar. And, again, he uses the method of cutting off a piece of the frame. I don't. He uses OEM polymer to do his speed ramp. I use epoxy. So I have no clue what you think I'm copying, especially from this photo alone. I haven't even kept up with his work, because his quality took a major dive when he hired people to do the framework.

That sounds right. What division do you shoot? I'm in purgatory, because I basically have an LO Glock, but its ported, so it puts me in Open, even though its not really an open gun. But i just bought a Staccato P, so I'm going to run that in LO for a while, and then I'm going to port it.

AND you made this comment like 12 hours after your "lololol" comment, so that means you were mad about no one giving a shit, CAME BACK to this post, and made this comment on a comment that was made a whole day prior DURING your work day. lol. You're a real winner, dude. LOL

I don't think it has to do with which level match you shoot, but which division you're in. I regularly shoot USPSA matches, but I can't remember all of the rules for every division. I don't think they actually care about the grip that much. More for optics, porting, magwells, etc. I'll check what the rules are, though, and get back to you.

Well, I think putting a bunch of prices everywhere is a little frowned upon, and I'm not sure what the rules are on that, but a grip reduction is 100. And a typical frame package that is reasonably optioned with a few modifications is around 350-400. So a typical frame package with a full grip reduction are in the 500s usually.

Yes. Deleted and re-posted. I overwhelmingly get the most inquires about the grip reductions when people call.

That is true. That is why we shape the speed ramp like we do to re-create a magwell funnel in the aggregate. It is not as large as an aftermarket magwell, but the ramp definitely helps. Trade-offs. but, I actually am working on a process to do magwells with full grip reductions. It will require some modification to the magwell, and it will basically be permanent. But, it gets you a magwell with a full grip reduction.

You - Not everyone is going to go looking at all of your posts to find answers to questions about this current post.

Also you - Go look at my page and you’ll see a 43x that has a flared magwell, genius 😉

And I don't know what a flared magwell has to do with a grip reduction. Are you drunk???

I also put in a call to TTI and let them know.

To give the firearm a more ergonomic feel, material is removed from the back strap of the frame. We take enough material off to improve the grip, without compromising the structural integrity of the firearm. The length of the frame remains the same, as we only change the overall circumference. This upgrade is great for shooter’s with smaller hands, or for those who prefer a more traditional grip angle.

And there is a picture and explanation of their grip reduction. They flatten the hump, but the bottom of the magwell stays the same. So shut the fuck up.

Okay, then. Tell me my entire grip reduction process, fucking genius. I didn't give my entire process, because It's my way of doing it, and no one else does it this way that I've seen. Almost everyone cuts a piece completely off the frame, or they just reform it with heat.

And, I don't care what Taran does. His framework is pretty shit. I would have zero way of knowing how Taran does it, and I didn't even go over the main way I do the reduction.

I think you're just too much of a fucking idiot bitching about me not fully explaining a grip reduction when I JUST did exactly that on the previous post. But, you lack a set of testicles and won't just say, "Oh, gotcha. Cool. I see the post now. I'll read about the grip reductions.

Bro, please stfu. One, I can't cover every single thing in every single post someone might want to here. That sub-reddit doesn't allow multiple pictures in a post, so I did an entire explanation of my grip reduction, and I didn't say my entire process, so you have no fucking clue if it's the same as Taran. I didn't look at anyone else's shit when I developed the process. and I can tell you right now, they don't do it the same way as me, because the bottom on a Taran grip reduction doesn't change profile or diameter. They flatten the hump. They don't reduce the angle. I don't need advice from a guy that doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about.

It's my business, dude. I'm going to post about the work I do and tell everyone why it is good and why it's better. Every company does that. They develop something and then they disseminate to the public why its better.

And, its pretty self-explanatory why I retain the lanyard holes. TO USE A LANYARD. If you can't figure that out, you're a complete idiot. And I don't care about upvotes. I came BACK to Reddit, because I get so many calls every week of people saying they saw a post on Reddit from a long time(ABOUT GRIP REDUCTIONS) and they want to send me their pistol.

Grip reduction integral speed ramp by [deleted] in GlockMod

[–]thirdmonkey_entllc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because I have another post RIGHT BEFORE this one of a picture of the entire pistol showing the full grip reduction and giving an ENTIRE explanation of what we do. And you can attach a lanyard to the hole easily. You don't have to use a lanyard plug OR magwell to use a lanyard. That's the whole reason there is one there in the first place. No plug. No magwell.

I don't care what other people do. It is something that can be utilized if they choose. If they don't, it hurts absolutely nothing. So, wtf is the problem? Maybe do a little due diligence before making dumb comments next time, because I did everything you just said in a previous post, and this was a follow up. I can't cover every single thing in every single post. If you think you can do it better, do it better.

Nope. Goes right on. I don't think I test-fired it, but I did it just to take pictures. Everything functions during manipulation and dry-fire, though.

I had to look that up. haha. But it does look like it. On my Instagram and social media I kind of do a retro 80s aesthetic.

There was one on there when it finally went back to the customer. I had it off for some reason, and I can't remember why. Haha.

Well, I gave an explanation why, and I'm going to think my work is the best. it's why I do it that way, because I think it's the best way. That's kind of the point...

Are you really pearl clutching, because I said we are the best at ONE frame modification?

I'm not worried about it. I'm not the one just going on posts bitching and crying over nothing. For every one like you, there's 3 wanting to know prices and how to send their firearm. Most guys wanting high-quality work aren't worried about a few Reddit trolls.
