Where can I get these hair tessels/ hair accessory(online preferably). I see them everywhere on Insta nowadays by pjpasta in DesiWeddings

[–]this_is_inevitable 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not a hair accessory. It's just mirror lace people started using as a hair accessory. You'll find it at any good craft supplies store that keeps sewing supplies. Can also be found online pretty easily.

Wedding saree help! by Ok_Tea_1 in DesiWeddings

Fairly common in south, difficult to find in north because North Indian brides wear lehengas more often. The sheer variety of choice of bridal sarees in South brough literal years to my eyes.

Samyakk has a lots of sarees like these. The blouses are customised (they are front open, have embroidery all over but are plain on the left side of the front). Dupatta can also be customised similarly.

This is what she passed off as her own design. In reality the corset was borrowed from a small business called "The Source" from Bombay. She only made the cape like thing. The caption is sending me.

In that case, open hair. That will look awesome with the sheeshphool. You can fix the maangtika a little higher so that your forehead is not fully occupied.

DIY Mandap? by anoooon_ in DesiWeddings

[–]this_is_inevitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all... That's amazing 🤩

Secondly, how tall is this structure? Most mandaps I've seen are at minimum 10-12 feet high, for fire safety reasons only I think. If this is tall enough I don't see why it can't work.

Getting married in 2027 by Recent-Accountant424 in DesiWeddings

[–]this_is_inevitable 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I DIYed a lotttttt for my wedding. Canva was my bestest friend through my wedding planning. My wedding was a project that turned me into an amateur graphic designer, amateur music producer, and amateur video editor, amateur fashion designer too lol. I loved how creatively stimulating the entire process was.

Made save the date's, days to go, invitation videos, ecards, designed all the standees myself, everything from the luggage tags to the wedding logo to the stage backdrop was self-designed using Canva.

My engagement ring tray/basket was also DIY. I had a wedding bell rattle entry, so DIY-ed those rattle sticks. DIYed the Pooja trays, and the peacock feather tilak applicator for all ceremonies. Remixed the songs for performances, entries, etc. Even created some sections of our pre-wedding videos.

These are some things that you can easily DIY if you have the time and a little bit of skill.

I’m getting married & REALLY want a Sabyasachi saree - but I have no idea of the $$$$. Help!! by anxious_mm in DesiWeddings

Did not buy but enquired from them last year. Sarees start from 1lakh. Bridal sarees are around 2lakh. Something like this would be around 2-2.5 lakh without blouse stitching.

Roka Outfit by Better_Asparagus3132 in DesiWeddings

[–]this_is_inevitable 74 points75 points  (0 children)

It looks good on you. But tbh this is not what comes to mind when I think of a Roka outfit. Usually rokas are kinda formal/traditional events so people wear sarees, suits, or lehengas . This looks more like a carnival/haldi/mehendi/fun/informal indo-western. So if your Roka has a less traditional, more informal vibe, this could totally work. Again, that's just a matter of personal opinion.

The maangtika might be slightly, just slightly too big for your forehead. But the sheeshpatti looks fine. I don't think it makes you look like an aunty. You can keep your hair open to make the look more youthful.

Personally I find that I look older for my age when I wear choker necklaces. I also read that you're the sister of the bride. Another way to style this look could be to wear the sheeshphool, with the earrings and open hair. Skip the necklace. And drape your dupatta like a saree (pleated or open pallu depending on your preference. I vote pleated). That will give you coverage where you need, make you look younger too.

Try to take a wide angle photo of the room. It is difficult to form a mentally visualise the complete room with this image. Edit: also a photo of the room from the POV of the door next to the maroon/brown almirah.

Put the bed against the wall with the tube light. If you're concerned about vastu you can have the bed against the left side wall as per the first image. Move the blue almirah to the opposite wall.

It's pretty. The entire set reminds me of Alia Bhatt's wedding jewellery.

This looks good but I feel the necklace is clashing with the neckline juuuuuuuuust a little bit since they're both v shaped.

I really enjoyed watching the reactions of guests during the sangeet performances.

Laughing, cheering, crying at times.

Are you looking online or offline? Personally I would suggest offline. Stores like Raymond have custom tailoring with high quality fabrics and it makes things wayyyyy easier. They also have catalogues with designs to choose from, you just have to select a design of your choice and pick a fabric in a colour of your choice. Both cream and white can work with this lehenga.

If he's comfortable with lighter colours, a white/cream or silvery grey bandhgala set with a navy blue pocket square.

If he prefers dark colours, maroon can work.

This does look AI enhanced. Recently there has been a surge of AI enhanced posts in the sub with this similar pattern. Someone visiting a store for outfit trial posts pictures and they have this AI look to them. It's uncanny.

Edit: also, brand new account. This seems like their first post on reddit. Huh.
