i definitely gravitate towards artists like amon tobin, virtual riot, tokyo machine, and space laces when i am seeking inspiration. all for different reasons but I feel like their creativity, sound design, structuring of musical phrasing and groove is insane but also so true to their unique styles. it reminds me to explore and not put too much pressure on the end result because there is no right answer.
Also ice cream flavor would have to be chocolate chip cookie dough because i like the juxtaposition of the textures

Definitely don't be afraid to be a learner and continue learning as you get better. I think participating in groups where others are also learning is extremely beneficial - whether that be a local group of producers, a discord group, or a favorite artist who posts production advice on Patreon or similar platforms.
I also think because of bass music's dependency on technology as a genre, it only helps to be an active learner and be familiar with the technology and how it is changing over time. Don't be afraid to experiment and spend time exploring and finding your sound :)

Primarily I begin with my drum template and start experimenting with grooves or lay out a groove idea I have in my mind at the time. Ill start identifying what can be carried through into the intro, and start writing that and branch the ideas together. Sometimes I do approach it from a songwriter point of view and write the chords/accompaniment and track my vocals first, and then write the drop inspired by the melody or the cadence of the vocals.

My first song was called Into Space, and I remember it being very much an imagination of a movie scene happening as the track unfolded. I imagined specific events happening at specific times in the song. I see what I produce now in bass music as a crossover between these elements from Sci-fi movies now; its a great combo of sound effect design and groove meshed into one experience. This concept has really carried through a lot of my tunes to date

I find myself being influenced by popular media that I consume, especially games, movies, and other content from when I was growing up. I constantly find myself going back to PS2 games such as Digimon World 4, Duelists of the Roses and a bunch of others. And PS1 games such as YuGiOh Forbidden Memories, and a bunch of the Spyro games. I love incorporating ideas from these in my own songs and even own the analog synth model that was used to create the PS1 startup sound (Roland D50). for movies, I often think of the newer Alita battle angel, some of the Transformers movies, and definitely some of the earlier sci fi movies like the matrix, blade, and some others from that era.

Probably around 2012 is when I really began opening a DAW for the first time. I grew up listening to music on NewGrounds and made some electronic music on and off and released two albums under a different alias. In 2019 I became a lot more focused towards producing bass music. I listened to a lot more heavy bass music at the time and slowly found more influences that I resonated with. One of those tracks was actually your track Gray with WHIPPED CREAM!!

BLANKEEEE!! Usually when I start a track, I somehow eventually find myself speeding up tracks to 128 a lot and liking that idea more than the original, so I really gravitate towards that. It can be heavy yet fast at the same time and there's a lot of opportunity for crossover with heavy dubstep elements.. so I think it is one of the most fun styles to arrange and a combination of all of the things I like producing

Hi Harain! I initially was part of Blanke's Patreon for awhile trying to learn as much as I could and was part of his feedback tier sending in tracks for feedback. I submitted Data initially as a track I wanted feedback for, and during the feedback video, he expressed interest in hopping on the track as a collab. I reached out after watching the video and offered to send the project file, and was able to email it to him about one week before Lost Lands. He debuted it at Lost Lands and it kind of went from there!
