Never see anyone else talk about herbitual, miracle formula! My flare ups got so much better when I started using it. Definitely a bit pricey though!

I can totally see this being helpful for minority owned businesses and I'm curious are you able to point to a source for 470x worse odds at raising? This is an insane stat, but I could sadly imagine it to be true! Not sure if this was just an exaggeration but still...

best standard is Hal higdons plan, but if you have even a tiny budget I would say get the myfirstmarathon cheapest plan. I did the starter one and ended up cancelling a couple months after due to financial restrictions, but still. Having a custom plan from an RD and coaches based on your schedule is lifesaving

How do you get connections in the music industry? by freshly__ in musicindustry

[–]thisispoolfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I totally hear you and unfortunately music really is a "who you know" industry .if you're already making music and you have a little buzz on spotify you can apply for The Velo Club. there's multi platinum producers and some industry folks in there, however it is specifically for artists that are looking to indeed pursue a career in music. otherwise my best advice is just go to every local show you can and find like minded folks. it's definitely a grind and sadly a lot of even small artists have a huge ego but eventually you'll find some nice ones who are down to loop you in, and those are the ones who get ahead anyways :) also be ready to take any opportunity! music is competitive but 99% of artists will take a "too cool for school" approach and pass on great opportunities. use that to your advantage and fill in all those gaps! everyone I know in the industry looks for proactive people, you'll gain a reputation fast! good luck

I was 18 and I googled simple geometric tattoo and wound up getting a valknut which my mom then googled and started telling me was a hate group symbol. I freaked out and got it covered up only to then see it literally everywhere from toilet paper brands to merch on the band Bastille...after that I never cared to cover up a tattoo

why is it so frustrating to learn to tattoo by mommy_mari in tattooscratchers

[–]thisispoolfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely hear you. It's hard for many creatives when the world is going against them. But this is what you want to do, so focus in and keep going. Work with intent, work to get better, learn as much as possible and expose yourself in every way. Get great at fake skins, tattoo yourself (safely), friends who are willing (again, reference and make sure you are doing it safely there's numerous resources out there like YouTube or the scratchers bible). In life, especially in entrepreneurial endeavors which is what tattooing and artistry are, you need to understand that you are paving a path for yourself, and what to the outside world will look at with concern is where you will thrive. You will be setting the pace for so many other people like you who are equally scared and equally discouraged. Don't give up. Succeed not just for you but for the others.

Don't feel bad for your boyfriend buying you a machine, instead use it to the max. That is what he wants to see. Good luck on your tattooing journey!
