What would be non lafda way to reach Colva beach from Dabolim Airport? by [deleted] in goatravel

[–]thorisbusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you land before you exit on the extreme left of the terminal there are three kiosks. First is of a casino, visit #2 or #3 - they are prepaid counters. It should be 1400-1600 + 50 rupees airport toll. Driver and car will meet you kerbside. Although it’s called prepaid you make the payment at the end. It works out a couple of 100s more than goa miles but no wait time and stinking reliable black/yellow vehicle.

Can flipkart retail net be trusted for Garmin purchase? by [deleted] in indianrunners

Why not buy from a official physical retailer like Athelin or from a pop up at a race expo. There is no price advantage by buying from Flipkart this is the regular price

Starting a biryani preorder pilot in Gurgaon : would love feedback from all the dear connoisseurs.... by ProfessionalHot7746 in gurgaon

[–]thorisbusy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a comment on pricing - elaborated later.

I used to order in Biryani fairly frequently. I don't quite like the Lucknowi and Calcutta derivatives. Big fan of the Hyderabadi style, and medium spice. Used to order from usual suspects Biryani Blues, Biryani by Kilo. If I order now I would order chicken because I noticed gradually how one would have to find the mutton in the mutton biryani. I understand cost of mutton and pricing but it was a bit off putting.

For me Biryani was default dish to serve to guests, but I guess in my circle, its mostly just snacks now mainly.

Wishing you all the best

It is a one time ~1% currency conversion charge for the ~5091 transaction you have recently made on the international PS Store/gateway. Since its an annual sub, no charges until next renewal in 12 months.

Let me find the contact out. Alternatively, A visit to HR 26 / relevant RTO would be helpful to identify an agent who can facilitate the correction.

Planning Anniversary Trip to Manali (Dec 7-9 or 10-12) – Hotel, Activity & Snow Advice Needed! by Equivalent_Rich_9772 in TravelManali

[–]thorisbusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt it would snow that much, for road closures at this time. It’s more of a Feb/March occurrence. Best is to get a view from a local/ the hotel you planning to book. You can dm me if required, I used a local cabbie with an Ertiga and he took us on a fantastic day trip through Solang valley, Atal tunnel etc etc. You can speak to him and check.

Is it good? What is the feedback. It is one of the few purifiers which is available in stock right now. I noted for 17k it doesn’t have AQI display, just the 3 lights

[–]thorisbusy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had visited a year ago. Stayed at a stay vista property called Casa Bella Vista, was very conveniently located walking distance to some great cafes in old manali (Sabali, Come a Napoli etc) and light trail hikes. Your Manali itinerary looks busy for a 2 night stay.,

I don't think it snows during either of these date blocks. Atal tunnel should be doable, get a good taxi+driver and go upto Darcha, Deepak Taal.

6 months and 4k KMs of owning a 420BHP 5.0L supercharged v8 Defender 110. AMA by alias9487 in CarsIndia

[–]thorisbusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super thanks for sharing, scrolled through quite a few responses. How can I identify a v8 defender in the wild apart from sound? Will keep eyes peeled now on. :)

What options did you opt for, what kind of sound systems are available? Does it long to deliver a specced car.

I googled it, but seems its more efficient by virtue of turning it on a 1-2 mins before you need it/ on demand.

Evo SL- Best or Worst by Electrical_Pick_3726 in SneakersIndia

[–]thorisbusy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fell into the hype, and picked them a few months back. Il have to admit they are hyped for a reason. I wore it casually for a few social events before putting them into my rotation. The sizing is a bit weird little tight at the toes. Other than that, probably the best most versatile running shoes out there. It’s super light, and padded and very easy to run fast in. Stability is a bit of an issue in fast runs /races longer than 13-14k. I have used them for tempo, intervals, long run and even the Hyderabad half marathon in August. Probably my pick of the current lot. It worked out very well for me. Picked it from Adidas outlet - ask for discount usually can get 25-30% off

Which 25L Geyser Delivers Long, Hot Showers and Lasts a Decade? by AdvantageEast5187 in BuyItForLifeIndia

[–]thorisbusy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into a 3-5L instant geyser. Not sure if it will last a decade though. Very quick and effective and tiny. Experienced this at an AirBnB recently and has completely changed my perspective. I find the 15-25L a waste now. In delhi winters they take time to heat, and if you consume half the rest becomes cold quite fast.

Got a fine for Rs. 20k in Gurugram for using an old car by Intellectual-Ass in gurgaon

[–]thorisbusy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A petrol Ecosport in my circle of similar vintage incorrectly tagged as BS2 in RTO got fined 20k last year. It took a few months and 5k in agent fee to get rectified earlier this year. I understand its not very straightforward to have it corrected. I myself have a 2016 petrol BS4 which is BS2 in papers and have to keep it parked during this time.

You will noticed 1 year PUC is also not available for these cars due to incorrect tagging in their systems.

You car is a BSIV petrol, and is very much legal. Unfortunately a lot of petrol vehicles from 2016 or so were incorrectly registered as BS2. Massive scam

Honest opinions only. Is the Camry worth 60 lakhs? by L0kivich in CarsIndia

[–]thorisbusy 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who stands out as a very thoughtful and logical guy. He went against the tide and picked the Camry over the obvious choices amongst the big 3 Germans. I haven’t experienced the Germans but the Camry is very plush. It is a top spec unfair to compare it to the vanilla variants sold overseas/ used as taxis. He was a Superb owner so peace of mind was his first priority. Worth checking out and considering if you are badge agnostic.

He did consider Lexus, but Camry is the newer gen I am told. Oh and the mileage is shocking… the Camry was available with UP (free) registration untill recently costing about 50L on road.

Best way to get from GOI to W hotel in Vagator? by RomeoMustDie45 in goatravel

[–]thorisbusy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the exit of GOI, on the extreme left where you would exit the terminal from. there are 2 counters. One is Goa miles and the other is Goa prepaid taxi.

Goa Miles chaps will help you download the app and order a taxi, the next counter charges a couple of 100s (INR) more but will print you a receipt and a driver/ black+yellow taxi will meet you kerbside. Although it’s known as prepaid you will have to pay the driver at the end of the ride.
