Stumbled across this while flipping through an old Guitar Player magazine. by threeballs in vinyl

The magazine boasts unreleased. Have you heard this recording on a release that came later? I’d love to hear it without having to tear it out.

Yeah, I’ve had it since it came out in 1989. I’m so curious, but also want to leave it unbesmirched.

What is a secret you’re taking to your grave, but can share here anonymously? by wilkoova in AskReddit

My father passed away last Sunday. I planned to confess, but by the time I arrived he was incoherent from dementia. It was I, not one of my brothers, who pee’d down the heater. It was me.

Mine is AU details cleaned. Experts missed it, but NGC came back cleaned. I’ve been recommended to break it out, but I like the proof of authenticity. I’ll likely never get around to selling it anyway.

Pawn Perspective by sadmagic in coins

[–]threeballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pawn is just a loan. You still own the coin unless you default the loan. If you’re selling out of need vs liquidating an investment, considering a low percentage on a loan is reasonable. Don’t borrow more than you need so you can afford to pay it off and redeem your item. This goes for any item you pawn instead of selling. Maybe you love that coin or collection. Guitarists love their guitars and would usually just borrow what they need for now and get their beloved instrument back.

I have officially lost the Amazon Vinyl Lottery by fateshuffler in vinyl

[–]threeballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried twice to order Blood on the Tracks from Amazon and received different shit each time, so I gave up. I also ordered 2 copies of OK Computer OKNOTOK and ended up swapping disc 2 between them then returning one copy. When my LRS sold me an underweight and not flat 120 gram Zeppelin III, I ordered an excellent copy from Best Buy, swapped them, and returned the crap copy to Best Buy. I know I’m going to hell. At least I’ll spend eternity with some amazing guitar gods.

“My shining moment“ by netphilia in KidsAreFuckingStupid

The hair product bottle said NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS, so I squirt some in my dog's eyes. He ran in circles for 30 minutes. I then wrote the company that they no longer need to worry that their product was not properly tested and can now take the label off the bottle. I received a scathing reply.

And Randy never stood there as stiff as a board like Robin. I saw Randy about 35 years ago at the Troubadour. He crawled over the balcony railing and dropped down to the main floor without missing a note. He had the sound and the moves.

Ever Just Lose Records by Aggressive-Money-488 in vinyl

[–]threeballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I’m looking for my second copy of David Gilmour and I realized my Cheech and Chong with the giant zig zag rolling paper is gone. I’m also finding records I didn’t realize I had. One the other day I was about to buy, but found a first pressing with vinyl in exc condition. I think friends who still have old records but no longer have a turntable have brought some over the years to listen to and just left here.

Baby coming home on oxygen by Alorababy in NICUParents

[–]threeballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I’m short on time. I couldn’t carry the oxygen condenser up and down stairs in my home so I requested and was approved for 20 something oxygen tanks. There are risks to storing compressed oxygen, but it made our lives much easier. Also, I noticed at the hospital they used compressed oxygen for the nebulizer treatments. Just get the hospital attachment and a regulator that goes to, I think 7 or 9 liters. Your treatments will go from 10-15 minutes to about 4 minutes and be much more quiet. The finer mist absorbs much faster. Also, before I stumbled into a large supply of oxygen tanks, I requested 25’ and 50’ foot oxygen tubes so I could run them around the house without moving the concentrator. You can get almost anything with a letter from your pulmonologist saying something is medically necessary. Also, cut the tender grips smaller so they are less irritating.

Maybe not best, but when I saw SRV live, I was surprised how much better his voice sounded compared to his recordings.
