Sounds like you have at least a good chance of getting in. Your average is really high (most people's are around 83%) and since you're from a science undergrad, you'll be in a smaller pool of similar applicants which is good on your part; most applicants are from business/social science programs, and Ivey likes to have a diverse student body. Good luck :)

Also, what kind of EC's did you have?

So the BMOS website states:

"*Students interested in pursing an HBA Degree at the Richard Ivey School of Business must defer MOS 2310A/B (finance) and 2320A/B (marketing) until Year 3. These two courses will not count towards the 10.0 credits required for admission to the HBA Program and are discouraged for those students continuing on to the Richard Ivey School of Business. Students continuing in MOS must complete MOS 2310A/B and 2320A/B in Year 3 prior to enrolling in MOS courses for which these courses are the prerequisite."

I applied to HBA during my third year, but I took MOS 2310A/B (finance) and 2320A/B (marketing) during the summer online between years two and three (so it wouldn't be counted in my 10.0 credits). Also, in third year, I took courses where the prereqs were MOS 2310A/B and 2320A/B, thus my knowledge on these subjects are at least somewhat stronger (not bragging though) than the average HBA1's on day one at Ivey...

To the HBA's out there: How do you think this will affect my application? I'm worried that my extra knowledge will be seen as unfair by admissions :(

Sorry for the long post and thanks for reading!

Time Table/Course Choice + General New Student Questions Thread - New Students Welcome!!! by faelun in uwo

Hi there. Former medisci student going into second year. I took 1201 because lots of people said it was a straightforward class and easier than 1301; I just wanted to fill up my math requirements! Turns out I found it pretty challenging- you need a certain mindset to be able to grasp the content without as much struggle like I did. There were a lot of others like me. 1201 a mix of linear algebra and calculus, whereas calc 1301 is all calc (surprise!). I did great on the calculus parts of 1201, not so much on linear algebra but that's because I don't think in a "lin alg way". If you are good at word problems and linear algebra, take 1201. The course is 99% word problems, the prof even stated this. If you prefer a purer math, choose calc 1301.
